Gordon Lee's winning streak reaches 20 matches

The Gordon Lee Lady Trojans opened the week as the No. 7ranked volleyball team in Class 1A and they celebrated by taking down two more Area 4-1A opponents during tri-match in Dalton this past Tuesday.

Gordon Lee defeated North Cobb Christian, 25-17 and 25-22, before posting a much easier victory over host Christian Heritage, 25-6 and 25-10.

Emma Boles had 15 kills and six aces for the Lady Trojans. Summer Fitzpatric­k finished with seven aces and six kills. Hannah Lee had 29 digs and Sidney Pierce collected 24 assists to go with seven aces.

Gordon Lee sweeps at LFO

The Lady Trojans opened the 2016 volleyball season back on Aug. 11 with a three-set loss to LFO in the first half of a tri-match in Chickamaug­a.

They haven’t loss since.

The Navy-and-White, the only public school team in the Class 1A Top 10, kept their winning streak alive this past Thursday and got a measure of revenge with a win against the Lady Warriors. They also picked up a threeset win over Southeast Whitfield to run their

current winning streak to 20 in a row to begin the new week.

Gordon Lee (20-1) beat the Class 4A Lady Raiders, 25-11, 20-25, 25-19, before handing LFO — ranked No. 6 in Class 3A — a 25-17, 2522 defeat.

Gracie O’Neal finished the night with 13 kills, while Aubree Yancey added 11 kills and recorded five more blocks. Pierce had 49 assists in the two matches, while Lee had 53 digs.

The Lady Trojans will put their streak on the line again this Tuesday as they will join LFO for a tri-match
