James L. Brown, 84 Rossville
James L. Brown, of Rossville, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Sept. 2, 2016. He was 84.
He was born in Hamilton County to the late James Jessie and Floyd Helen Brown and lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life.
He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and worked as an electronics tech-
nician with GTE for many years.
He was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was very dedicated to his church and church family where he served in many different areas inside and out.
He was very active with Rossville Food Ministry and was always putting others’ needs before his own. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel “Lou” Cox Brown; sister, Tottie Morris and three brothers, Kenneth, Lewis and Sonny Brown.
Survivors include: His children, Connie (Brian) Kelley of Chickamauga, Ga., Mike (Lucretia) Brown of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Christy (Bill) Houston of Rossville; sister, Frances Nell (Bill) Travis of Fort Oglethorpe; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Visitation: Saturday, Sept. 3, after 3 p.m. and prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services: Sunday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m. in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel
with Rev. Jim Bennett officiating.
Burial: Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
