LaFayette downs Chattanoog­a Valley

The LaFayette varsity Lady Ramblers needed three sets this past Tuesday night, but were able to pull out a 23-25, 25-16, 25-12 road win at Chattanoog­a Valley.

Aubrey Blankenshi­p had eight ace and six kills for the Lady Ramblers. Sarah Ray threw down five kills to go with four aces, while Sara Adkins added three aces. Gracie Hess served up two aces, while Gracelin Henry and Kloe Ludy had one each.

Maleah Upshaw had a kill and a dig for the Lady Eagles, while Sydney Davis added one dig.

In the junior varsity match, LaFayette coasted to a 25-15, 25-11 win behind seven aces from Brittany Aguero and six from Abby Keys. Alex Wysong finished with three aces and two kills. Alexis Blaylock had two aces, while Sydney Barker, Jada Bishop and Bella Brown added one apiece.

Annabelle Casto had an ace in the loss for CVMS, while Annabel Hill had one dig.

LaFayette splits with Heritage

The varsity Lady Ramblers fell back to .500 with a three-set loss to Heritage on Thursday.

The Lady Ramblers won the first set, 25-21, but the Lady Generals responded with a 25-17 win in the second set and a 25-9 victory in the tiebreakin­g third set.

Blankenshi­p had six kills and four aces for LaFayette (4-4) in the loss. Henry had four kills and a pair of aces.

Ray added four aces. Gracie Hess chipped in with three digs and Bishop served up an ace.
