Mary Alice Hill, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016. She was 69.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area and was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Eugene Hill and parents, Clarence and Phyllis Hicks.

Survivors include: Her son, Michael Hill of Red Bank; four sisters; one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bruce Eugene Hales, 68 Ft. Oglethorpe

Bruce Eugene Hales, of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at his residence. He was 68.

Bruce served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and obtained the rank of staff sergeant. He also served in the National Guard and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Bruce was retired from Signal Mountain Cement, was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, enjoyed painting, sports, telling stories and cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Eugene Williams; mother, Thelma Hales and stepfather, Hubert Hales.

Survivors include: His wife, Linda Sue Hales; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Early and Michele (David) Suggs; grandchild­ren, Sting (Erica) Weber, Hannah Weber and Bryson Suggs; great-grandchild­ren, Allie Claire Weber, Brynlie Morgan Weber, Radleigh Kate Weber and William Trestyn Weber; brother, Hubert Franklin (Susan) Hales Jr., and sisters, Judy (Tony) Rush and Brenda Searcy.

Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 4-8 p.m. at South Crest Chapel.

Funeral service: Thursday, Sept. 22, at 2:30 p.m. at South Crest Chapel with Pastor Michael Dunwoody officiatin­g.

Lee Roy Lawson, 85 Ft. Oglethorpe

Lee Roy Lawson, of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in a local health care facility. He was 85.

Mr. Lawson was a member of Old Fort Baptist Church and served as choir director for several churches in the area.

He retired from Sears and served his country in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany, he met his loving wife.

Mr. Lawson enjoyed woodworkin­g and was an excellent artist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lawson and Ruby Queener and brother, Kenneth Lawson.

Survivors include: His wife of 63 years, Martha Lawson; daughters, Cindy (Ron) Park- er and Shelia (Eddie) Caheely; grandchild­ren, Rachelle (Scott) Lea, Adam Caheely and Hannah (Ethan) Simmons; great-grandchild­ren, Cannon and Cove Lea; sisters, Jean Powers and Nancy Cummings and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 5-8 p.m. at South Crest Chapel.

Funeral service: Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at South Crest Chapel with Rev. Bill Proctor officiatin­g.

Burial: Calvary Memorial Gardens.

Rhonda Faye Taylor Smith, of Ringgold, Ga., passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2016. She was 56.

A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area she was a member of Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Silas Gavin Roberson.

Survivors include: Her husband, Stan Smith of Ringgold; two daughters, Brooklyn (Jeremy) Hale and Felicia (Adam) Bennett both of Ringgold; parents, James Albert and Charlotte Ann Jefferess Taylor of Ringgold; sister, Teresa Headrick of Ringgold; three brothers, James Allen Taylor, Randy Taylor and Ricky Taylor all of Ringgold; seven grandchild­ren, Savannah Roberson, Seth Roberson, Sawyer Roberson, Adriana Bennett, Malia Bennett, Brody Bennett and Gabby Bennett and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: Saturday, Sept. 24, at 2:30 p.m. at Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Albert “Gene” Wilson Sr., of Flintstone, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016. He was 77.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area and was of the Baptist faith.

Gene was retired from Chattanoog­a Glass Company and was a member of the Chattanoog­a Umpires Associatio­n.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Morgan “JP” and Bertha Wilson and sister, Lula Mae Schandera.

Survivors include: The mother of his children, Margaret Jenkins Wilson; children, Jeannine Wilson of Cleveland, Keri (Randy) Perkins of Carrollton, Elizabeth (Butch) Genter and Gene (Jennifer) Wilson Jr. all of Flintstone; sisters and brothers, Janice (Tommy) Sledge, Jim (Ann) Wilson and Margaret Ann Weathers; grandchild­ren, Brandon and Nicole Wilson, Jamey Billups, Katie Perkins, Dakota and Brodie Genter, Kilie, Tenslee and Laney Wilson and several nieces and nephews.

Mattie Knittel Houston Lister, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2016. She was 86.

She was born Aug. 31, 1930, to the late Frank and Viola Knittel, and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Houston and Cecil Lister; daughter, Beth Everett; sister, Hazel Houston and brothers, Fred and Edwin Knittel.

Survivors include: Her daughters, Sharon (David) Hampton of LaFayette and June (Steve) Tipton of Dallas, Ga. her brothers and sisters, DeEtt Bowman of Bryant, Ala., Joyce Gray of Laurens, S. C., Ray and Roy Knittel of Cohutta, Ga.; grandchild­ren, Brian Houston, Jenny VanFossen, Chris Hampton, Michelle Glen, Ryan Tipton and Kelly Tipton; 10 great-grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Nataleigh London Long, 6 LaFayette

Nataleigh London Long, of LaFayette, Ga., left footprints on our hearts Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016. She was six years old.

Nataleigh attended Saddle Ridge Middle School and was a first grade student. Her contagious smile touched many lives her short time on earth. Nataleigh will be remem-

bered for her bubbly and delightful personalit­y as well as a being a bright student.

She was gifted with the ability to learn quickly, was always willing to help and the first to extend a helping hand, a born leader and a future teacher.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparen­ts, Charlene and Wilburn Croy; sister, Sadie Long; great-grandparen­ts, Leonard Manis and great aunt, Mary Biggers.
