NGAC Softball: Lady Trojans pick up two more victories

Emma Langston struck out five hitters and helped herself with a hit at the plate as the Gordon Lee Lady Trojans collected a 4-0 win at Trion last Tuesday.

Marianne Believeau was 2 for 4 to pace the offense, while Allie Farrow and Jordan Dyer each had a double in the win. Sidney Gazaway had a hit and Asia Lanham picked up a hit as pinch hitter in the seventh inning.

Gordon Lee 9, Chattanoog­a Valley 1

The Gordon Lee Middle School softball team got three hits and a double each from Marianne Believeau and Jordan Dyer and beat Chattanoog­a Valley, 9-1, on Friday.

Madison Farrow added two doubles at the plate. Allie Farrow was 2 for 4 with two singles, while Asia Lanham, Ashlyn Schmidt and Sidney Gazaway each added hits. Pitcher Emma Langston had 13 strikeouts and gave up just five hits in the victory.

Maggie Dickson had three bunt singles and Cordasia Watkins had an RBI-double for the Layd Eagles. Halie Thompson started in the circle for CVMS and pitched three innings.

Lakeview 7, Chattanoog­a Valley 5

Jenna Morgan led off the game with an inside-the-park home run last Monday, but the Lady Warriors would have the final say as they picked up a win over the Lady Eagles in an NGAC softball game at Lakeview.

Madison Bowman and Kylie Collins both had triples for the Lady Eagles.

The Lady Bulldogs lost a decision to the Lady Mustangs in a junior varsity softball game at Rossville City Park last Tuesday.

Rossville got four strikeouts from pitcher MaKayla Cope and fin- ished with three hits on the afternoon. Hailey Culpepper and Savannah Hall both had singles and Hall would score the lone run for the Lady Bulldogs on an RBI-single by Adarah Burks.

Individual statistics for the Lady Mustangs were not provided.

Trion 6, Saddle Ridge 4

Madi Ashley had a grand slam for the varsity Lady Mustangs this past Thursday, but the Trion Lady Bulldogs would rally for the win in a game played at LaFayette High School.

Ashlyn Jenkins went 2 for 4 for Saddle Ridge and scored a run. Haley Stahl and Gracie Hamilton, LaTyah Barber and Madison Sisemore each had hits, while Barber and Abby Sansing also scored for the Lady Mustangs. Stahl was solid in the circle and finished with seven strikeouts.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Ramblers hosted the Lady Tigers, but made numerous errors in the loss.

LaFayette managed eight hits, including two each by Thompson and Trinity Bell. Hughes, Corbin and Thompson scored runs for the Lady Ramblers.
