Marvin Lee Boss, of Chickamauga, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016. He was 73.
He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and attended Rising Fawn Holiness Church and Slygo Valley Holiness Church.
He was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War and worked as a truck driver, worked for Seaboard Farms, Dawn Produce and Crystal Springs Mills. Marvin truly enjoyed his job and loved driving tractor trailers and dump trucks.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Lee and Susie Belle Smith Boss; stepson, Eric Randall “Rambo” Roberts; brothers, Johnny “Tubby” Boss and David Boss; sister, Pat Hallman and grandchild, Melinda Athalene Bethune.

Sara Lee Dickens, of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at Parkside Nursing Center. She was 93.
Mrs. Dickens was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ooltewah, Tenn., and taught the Beginners Sunday school class for many years at Park City Baptist, Unity Baptist and Battlefield Baptist Churches. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harry Dickens; brother, H.S. “Bob” Dover and sonin-law, Jim Abernathy.
Survivors include: Her son, Thomas (Sharon) Dickens; daughters, Angeline Abernathy, Joy (Matt) Blakely and Jane (Neil) Carden; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was a Sgt 1st Class in the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era and also in Kuwait during Desert Storm and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2003 after more than 30 years of service as a postmaster.
Charles loved Alabama football “Roll Tide” and enjoyed gardening and raising chickens. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendola Bailey.

He was of the Baptist faith, worked with Wilkinson Sales for more than 30 years as a salesman and enjoyed coon hunting and spending time with his family and friends, but especially his grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Viola Ryan.

Bo was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was selfemployed for over 40 years as owner of Bo’s Hobby Shop, where he processed deer.

Rosie Beatrice Brown Landers, of Ringgold, Ga., passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at her residence. She was 95.
Mrs. Landers was a devoted mother, grandmother and prayer warrior and longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
She loved her family, reading her Bible and going to yard sales.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Landers Sr.; parents, Jessie and Alma Brown; sons, Sonny, Jerry and Larry Landers; and brothers, J.T. and Virgil Brown.

Anderson “Gene” Hass, formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, in Ft. Payne, Ala. He was 67.
Mr. Hass was employed the past four years with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department in Ft. Payne, Ala., following his retirement from the Chattanooga Police Department with 30 years of service.
Gene enjoyed blacksmithing, restoring classic cars, riding his motorcycle and coaching little league baseball and football.
He was of the Christian faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gail Hass; parents, Jonas and Oneda Hass; sister, Claudia “Paulette” Nichols and nephews, Charles Nathaniel Raines and Gary Wayne Nichols.

Michael Wayne Cordell, of Chickamauga, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 06, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of LaFayette and was of the Baptist Faith. Michael enjoyed driving and working on old cars and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Raymond Cordell; children, Brandie Joyce and Joseph Cordell; and sister, Nancy Katherine Cordell.

John Paul Burke Jr., of Ringgold, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas and was of the Christian faith. He was an Air Force Veteran and had worked in the Carpet Mill Industry for more than 40 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him.
