Daniel Paul Pettigrew, 71 LaFayette

Daniel “Red” Paul Pettigrew, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away at his home Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, surrounded by family. He was 71.

Red was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lillie Wooten Pettigrew and brother, Raymond Pettigrew.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 40 years, Sheila Pettigrew; daughters, Dawn (Preston) Chandler and Crystal Pettigrew; sisters, Martha McGill,

Liz Dean and Ellen (Ross) Littlejohn; brothers, Jim (Alice) Pettigrew, Sam Pettigrew, Tom (Martha) Pettigrew, Mack (Doris) Pettigrew all of LaFayette and Whitey (Diane) Pettigrew of Rock Spring, Ga.; grandchild­ren, Ryan (Heather) Chandler, Jordan (Jessica) Chandler, Lexi Woodard, Hunter Woodard, Aisha McSears; greatgrand­children, Brantley Chandler, Blakely Chandler and Nash Chandler and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ruth Gilbreath Austin, of LaFayette, Ga., departed this life Monday, Oct. 10, 2016.

She was 77.

She peacefully went to her reward surrounded by the family she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis Austin; parents, Ruth and Bill Gilbreath and sister, Betty Hegwood.

Survivors include: Her daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) Barrett and Karen (Scott) Carr; son, Ricky (Vickie) Austin; granddaugh­ter, Peaches (Lee) Bradley; grandsons, James Carr, Justin and Richard Austin; brother, Billy (Bertha) Gilbreath all of LaFayette; sisters, Jerri (C.D.) Hilliard of Chattanoog­a and Wilma Ramey of Trion.

Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Terry “Sunshine” Leonard White, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016. He was 70.

He attended LaFayette Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard White; mother, Sarah Sprayberry; brother, John “Doodley” A. White and nephew, Kerry White.

Survivors include: His sister, Eileen (Perry) Kitchens; sisterin-law, Kathy White; aunts, Maybell Howard and Ruth Taylor; uncle, Sid Stewart; nieces, Amanda (Will) Beyer and Cindy (Jim) Taylor; nephews, Robert Allen (Kristy) White, Eric (Stephanie) Tallent; Richard White, Mark (Andrea) White and Jeff (Rhonda) White; great nieces, Keila Smith and Sarah Taylor.

Amber Charlesse Montgomery Townsend, 32 LaFayette

Amber Charlesse Montgomery Townsend, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at a local hospital in Chattanoog­a, Tenn. She was 32.

Amber was a 2003 graduate of LaFayette High School and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathe­rs, William “Bill” Jackson and Julius Montgomery and grandmothe­r, Barbara Ann Ware.

Survivors include: Her loving family; her husband, David Townsend; parents, Anthony Jackson and Loretta M. Jackson; sister, Latoria Montgomery; brother, Indio Hinkle; two nieces, LaNyia and Lanee Montgomery; special cousins, Timothy Jackson, Kabrecia Montgomery, Celena Baker and Travarous Ware; aunts and uncles, Charlene (Larry) Elrod, Thomas Ware, Terry Shropshire, Bessie Montgomery and Robin Jackson; grandmothe­r, Nylia Swint and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
