Jake M. Patterson, 81 Lookout Valley

Jake M. Patterson, of Lookout Valley, Tenn., passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 81.

Mr. Patterson was a native of Jefferson County, Tenn., and spent the past 40 years in the Chattanoog­a area.

He was employed as a driver with Chemical Leamon Tank Lines for more than 40 years until his retirement.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Patterson served as a medic at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

He loved hunting, fishing and spending time watching his grandchild­ren play ball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Laura Patterson; son, John Scott Patterson; daughter, Kimberly Sue Patterson; one brother and one sister.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 61 years, Bonnie Patterson; daughters, J.P. (Bobby) Gatlin and Gino (Eddie) Delay; grandchild­ren, Nick (Kara) Gatlin, Jake Gatlin and Austin “Porky” Delay; greatgrand­son, Jaxson Gatlin; brother, David Patterson; sisters, Miriam Faye Baldwin, Hope Carr and Melinda Satterfiel­d and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, Oct. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at South Crest Chapel.

Graveside service: Monday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens West with Minister George Cupp officiatin­g.
