She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle S. Pursley; brother, Don Carlock and grandson, Matthew Sertel.

Survivors include: Her loving children, Ernie E. (Denie) Pursley of Ringgold, Carol Merle (Jim) Hodges of Rock Spring and Thomas E. (Caroline) Pursley of Dacula, Ga.; sister, Betty Shirley of Ringgold; grandchild­ren, Ann Marie Peace, David Pursley, Sandy Pursley, Lindsay Hodges Forgey, Christina Pursley and Stephen Pursley; nine great-grandchild­ren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, Nov. 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the service time at the church on Friday.

Funeral service: Friday, Nov. 18, at noon at Boynton Baptist Church, with Keith McLeod and Pastor Jimmy Hutto officiatin­g.

Burial: Daily Hills Cemetery.

Charlie Edward Wade, 67 Dalton

Charlie Edward Wade, of Dalton, Ga., departed this life Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at Parkridge East, Eastridge, Tenn., surrounded by his loving family. He was 67.

Charlie was born Nov. 11, 1949, in Dalton, a son to the late Charlie Manuel Wade. He is also preceded by a son, Andy Wade.

Charlie loved to fish and read.

Survivors include: His mother, Dorothy Caldwell of Ringgold; sons, Bruce (Michelle) Wade of Dalton and Michael Wade of Chatsworth, Ga.; six grandchild­ren, Jennifer and Brian Latour, Brittany Wade, Amber and Danny Contreras, Cody and Tasha Wade, Megan Lamb and David Wade; a new great-grandson, Allister Neil Wade; sister, Beverly Simpson of Chatsworth and nieces and nephews.

Kathryn Nelson, 41 LaFayette

Kathryn “Gigi” Nelson, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016. She was 41.

She was a LaFayette High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include: Her daughters, Kaylor (Hunter) Goulart and Tessa Coffey; son, Trevor Coffey; parents, Grady and Elizabeth Nelson all of LaFayette; brother, Jonathan (Amanda) Nelson of Trion; grandchild­ren, Landon Moore, Hadaleigh Thornton and Karson Moore; nieces and nephew, Bailey Nelson, Brenleigh Nelson and C.J. Nelson.

Annie Jo Gunson Bowers, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 11, 2016. She was 89.

Survivors include: Her daughter, Billie (Mickey) Skates of LaFayette; sons, Tom (Barbara) Bowers of Hendersonv­ille, Tenn., and Jim (Shirley) Bowers of LaFayette; grandchild­ren, Jackson Bowers, Tracy Skates, Wendy Banther, Lt. Col. Hunter Bowers, Grant Bowers and Carly Howard; nine great grandchild­ren; one great-great grandchild and loving cousin, Andy Watson.

Myra Sue Stoker Williams, 71 LaFayette

Myra Sue Stoker Williams, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016. She was 71.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Edna Stoker; husband, Robert E. Williams; brothers, Jack Stoker and Gary Stoker; sisters, Martha Caldwell, Sara “Joyce” Stoker and Judy Hornbuckle.

Survivors include: Her daughter, Missy Williams Tennant; grandson, Dustin Tennant; granddaugh­ter, McKayla Tennant and fiancé, Ty Underwood; great grandson, Brycen Underwood all of LaFayette; sisters, Jeana (Steve) Stuckey of Jacksonvil­le, Fla., Deloria Palmer of Dalton, Marvilene Hyatt of Tunnel Hill, Cindy (Chad) Jones of Connecticu­t and several nieces and nephews.

Luke Williams, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016. He was 73.

He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Maude Bradley Williams; sister, Mary Rhodes; brothers, Raymond Williams and Ralph Kilgore; and special friend, Dorothy Welch.

Survivors include: His son, Michael Cooper; sister, Alma Ellison both of LaFayette and several nieces and nephews.

Julia A. Campbell, 85 East Ridge

Julia A. “Susie” Campbell, of East Ridge, Tenn., passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, with family members by her side. She was 85.

Susie was a native and lifelong resident of Chattanoog­a, a graduate of Kirkman High School and retired from T.V.A. following many years of service.

She loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many capacities such as teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir.

Susie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carlton Campbell; parents, William and Martha Gennoe; sisters, Polly Gennoe and Mildred Morgan; brothers, Ellis, Rex, Bill and twin brother, Sam Gennoe and nephew Jimmy Gennoe.

Survivors include: Her brother-in-law, Floyd Morgan; sisters-in-law, Barbara Sue Gennoe, Jean Hankins, Barbara (Bill) Crawford, Carol (Eddie) Sizemore and Dorothy Campbell; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the South Crest Chapel.

Funeral services: Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Neal Brown officiatin­g.

Burial; Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Ruby Louise Lavender, 86 Rossville

Ruby Louise Lavender, of Rossville, Ga., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, in a local healthcare facility. She was 86.

Mrs. Lavender was born in Cartwright, Tenn., April 29, 1930, to the late Willie Benton and Eva Jane Green and resided in the North Georgia area for the past 70 years.

She was formerly employed with MarMode Hosiery in Chattanoog­a as an operator and later with Ridgeland High School as a custodian.

She was a member of Chattanoog­a Valley Baptist Church and a member of Fidelous Sunday School Class and worked in the church nursery.

She enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening, feeding birds in her yard, and taking care of everyone’s children. She was a kind-hearted, loving and compassion­ate person and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Benton and Eva Jane Green; brothers, George Green and Alvis Green and a sister, Gracie Elizabeth Green.

Survivors include: Her loving husband of 60 years, Burrell Edward Lavender; sisters, Ota Kay Edwards, Betty Elliott and Lema (Johnny) Quinn; several nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.

Visitation: Saturday, Nov. 19, from 4-8 p.m. at South Crest Chapel. and Sunday, from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.

Funeral services: Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at Chattanoog­a Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Chambers and Rev. Ronnie Fleming officiatin­g.

Hazella Margarita Ryan, 97 Chattanoog­a

Hazella Margarita Ryan, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, with her family by her side. She was 97.

Mrs. Ryan was a native and lifelong Chattanoog­a resident and retired from Dixie Savings Store following 40 years of service.

She loved being with her family and shopping, and was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Ryan and brother, Walter Rhea.

Survivors include: Her sons, Larry (Nancy) Ryan and Mike Ryan Sr.; daughter, Pat Kimball; grandchild­ren, Steve (Chastity) Ryan, Danny (Teresa) Ryan, Mikesha (Gary) Ryan-Orr and Mike Ryan Jr., and six greatgrand­children.

Visitation: Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel.

Gregory Hugh Warren, 49 Ringgold

Gregory Hugh Warren, no longer resides in Ringgold, Ga., for as of Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, he lives in the bosom of the Lord. He was 49.

Greg was born Feb. 26, 1967, in Chattanoog­a, Tenn., was a graduate of Lookout Valley High School, attended Chattanoog­a State, and was the owner of Heroes Disposal Service.

He was once a member of St. Elmo United Methodist Church and currently maintained membership in Hickory Valley Baptist Church.

He had a heart filled with love for and service to others. His service to the community as a volunteer in the Catoosa County Fire and Rescue was unwavering and he was named Fireman of the Year in 2007. His respect for his peers is reflected in the naming of his business Heroes in honor of the 9/11 victims and others who serve and place themselves at risk on a daily basis. His devotion was motivated simply by the desire to help those in need.

His heart, now stilled, was filled with love for his wife, daughters, new grandson, his family and so many friends from childhood through today. Greg had many hobbies, and passion for his dogs and beloved outdoors.

Greg was preceded in death by grandparen­ts, Fred and Geraldine Britt and Hugh and Sofie Warren.

Survivors include; His wife Rosa; children, Savanna Warren and Rosario (Dylan) Queen and grandson, Sylas Queen; parents, Gail and Ray Warren; sister, Maureen (Rusty) Lowe and nieces, Haley (Chris) Lowe and Sophie Lowe; mother, Consuelo (Octavio) Hernandez of Mexico and brothers-in-law Diego of Ringgold and Ramon of Mexico and numerous relatives.

Visitation: Saturday, Nov. 19, from 1-9 p.m. and Sunday, from 11 a.m-2 p.m. with the funeral procession leaving at 2:30 p.m. from the funeral home.

Funeral service: Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m.at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Leroux and Rev. Jim Reilly officiatin­g.

Burial: Smith Chapel Cemetery.
