Kelehear went 11 of 12 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to help lift the Ramblers to a hardfought win over the Tigers Friday night on the final day of the Classic.

LaFayette went 17 of 20 from the line in the final period after going just 5 of 16 at the stripe in the first three quarters.

Kelehear finished with 19 points to go with nine assists and three steals. Andrew Pendergrass had a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double. Hunter had 15 points and grabbed seven boards, while Southern chipped in with 11 points.

“I’m extremely proud of the guys for competing as hard as they did and earning this win,” head coach Hank Peppers said. “We had several guys step up and make huge plays to help us tonight. It was a true team effort. Ringgold is a very talented team, so it’s a very good sign to see us rise to the challenge and come away with the victory.”

LaFayette (4-0) will look to go 1-0 in Region 6-4A play as they open the region slate at home against Pickens on Tuesday night. They will play at Northwest Whitfield on Friday before hosting LFO in a non-region game on Saturday.
