McDonough said one of the biggest keys to the season would be protecting the basketball.

“It starts with unity and teamwork and all of that, but we have to take care of the ball,” he added. “We averaged 25 turnovers as a team last year and we were still very competitive, but that’s one area to we have to improve on. If we take care of the ball, we should be alright.

“The guys are just excited to play and we’re taking it one game at a time. We just want to have fun out there and we can’t wait to see what the season holds for us.”
