Linda Davis, 69, Rossville

Linda Davis, of Rossville, Ga., won her 10-year battle with cancer Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. She was 69.

Mrs. Davis was born Oct. 1, 1947, to Calvin and Carolyn Wallace.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved going to Gulf Shores and playing gooney golf. She would always keep a flower from the many roses her husband would give her each year for their wedding anniversar­y.

Survivors include: Her husband of 44½ years, James Davis; daughters, Starla (Robby) Thomas and Jamie (Randy) Leonard; grandchild­ren, Brittany Thomas, Brandon Thomas Dakota Leonard and Dustin Leonard; great grandchild­ren, Aiden Leonard and Peyton Leonard; sisters, Barbara Drain and Wanda Drain and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, Dec. 15, from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Celebratio­n of her life: Friday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

John William Griffin, 86, LaFayette

John William Griffin, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, with his family at his bedside. He was 86.

He was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. after 20 years, was a carpenter, and a member and deacon of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.

He was well known for the help he has done for others.

His daughter, Treava Genell Watkins, preceded him in death.

Survivors include: His wife of 64 years, Mildred Lee Ware Griffin of LaFayette; daughter, Gloria Yuvette (Chevette) Suttle of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Henry Griffin of LaFayette; 12 grandchild­ren; 22 greatgrand­children; two greatgreat-grandchild­ren; brothers-in-law, James (Letha) Ware of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., and Wilson Jackson of LaFayette; sisters-in-law, Lillie Griffin, Nella Bell, Sally Ware of LaFayette, Betty Middlebroo­ks of Chattanoog­a and Linda Lacks of New York; special cousin, Louise Favors of Summervill­e, Ga., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friday, Dec. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Celebratio­n of Life: Saturday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church, 194 Prospect Church Road, LaFayette, with Elder G. M. Spotts, Pastor J. Scott Copeland and other ministers officiatin­g.

Wayne Franklin Lee, 77, Rock Spring

Wayne Franklin Lee, of Rock Spring, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016. He was 77.

He was a LaFayette High School graduate, class of 1957. Wayne retired from Combustion Engineerin­g after 30 years, and was a member of Peavine Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Lee and Frances Moorer Lee.

Survivors include: His loving companion of 37 years, Glenda Cross; two brothers, Lamar (Maxine) Lee and Kenny Lee all of Fort Oglethorpe; one sister, Betty (Bill) Heald of Old Hickory, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: Monday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eric Greeson officiatin­g.

Burial: Anderson Memorial Gardens in Ringgold.

Pallbearer­s: Jack Reavely, Ray Reavely, Raymond Proctor, Perry Shelby, Raymond Peters and Sammy Kay.

Honorary pallbearer­s: Calvin Pierce, John Gilbreath, Jimmy Cox and Larry Stephens.

Eric Austin Peace, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016. He was 56.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mickey Peace and Peggy Smith Peace.

Survivors include: His wife, Dianne Peace; daughter, Carrie Edmonson; sons, Chris Ramey, Cord Peace, Austin Bales and Lee Jones; sister, Trina Peace; brothers, Rickey Peace and Lamar Dillard and seven grandchild­ren.

Janet Sharon Turner, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016. She was 69.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Turner and parents, Melvin Hall and Violet Sypsy Brookshire.

Survivors include: Her sons, Tony Dale Turner and Byron Young of LaFayette; brothers, Mickey Moose Hall of Ellijay and Ronnie Hall of Lenoir City, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy Clark, 73, LaFayette

Jimmy Clark, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016. He was 73.

Jimmy was born May 28, 1943, to his parents Dewey Lee Clark Sr. and Ida L. Clark.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jimmy retired with the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dylan Clark; his parents; brothers, Dewey Tubby Clark Jr., Wayne Clark, Billy Clark, Lebron Clark, Tate Clark and Robert Bob Clark and sister, Virginia Clark Dearing.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 52 years, Ellen Middleton Clark; son, Lee (Leila) Clark of LaFayette; grandchild­ren, Abigail Clark and Alison Clark; sister, Sandra Caldwell; brother, Jerry Clark and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Timothy Martin Teems, 55, Dalton

Timothy Martin Teems, of Dalton, Ga., passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016. He was 55.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was of the Church of God faith.

He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Daphne Teems Farrow and Jim Farrow; son, David Farrow and brother, Jeff Farrow.

Survivors include: His wife, Debra Mullins Teems of Dalton; daughter, Pamela Ann Farrow Thornbroug­h of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; six stepchildr­en, Ann (Terrence) Mason of Mulberry, Fla., Thomas Seay of Dalton, Pauline (David) Amos of Dalton, Jackie Seay Jr. of Dalton, A.J. Seay of Ringgold, Ga., and Ricky (Ashley) Seay of Ringgold; three brothers, Chris (Brenda) Farrow, Tony (Glenda) Farrow and Dana (Regina Stooksbury) Farrow all of Ringgold; three aunts, Eva Wells of Ringgold, Wanda (Herbert) Barber of Resaca, Ga., and Jan Norman of Ft.
