In Friday’s opener, the Lady Trojans were outscored 15-2 in the opening period and they returned home from Trenton with a loss.

Gordon Lee fought back to pull to within six points, 23-17, at halftime. However, they managed just four points in the third quarter and never recovered.

Tori Williams had 14 points for Dade County, while Raven Stone chipped in with 13.

Katelyn Bickett and Abby Dalton had nine points each for Gordon Lee, while Katelyn O’Toole finished with six.

The Lady Wolverines enjoyed a healthy advantage at the free throw line. They made 17 of 26 attempts, while Gordon Lee went to the line just four times in the game, making two shots.

Heritage girls 58, Gordon Lee 42

Saturday’s game was a tight one for the first two-and-a half quarters. The Lady Generals (10-1) led 11-7 after the first quarter and were up just one, 23-22, at halftime.

Heritage’s advantage was just two points midway through the third, but a late run would stretch the lead out to 45-32 by the end of the period and the Lady Trojans would never threaten again.

Shalya Ludy had 10 of her 19 points in the third quarter. Emily Wiley finished with 12 points and Sydney Smith had 11 for Heritage.

Molly Thomison led Gordon Lee (2-5) with 16 points, followed by Dalton with 11.

Gordon Lee will play at LaFayette on Tuesday, starting at 6 p.m., before they head to Coahulla Creek for a Thursday 6 p.m. doublehead­er.
