In Friday’s thirdplace game the two teams traded the lead back-and-forth for nearly 30 minutes, but Southeast would make 4-of-5 free throws in the game’s final 1:20 to stave off the Ridgeland challenge.

The game did not count in the Region 6-AAAA standings.

Ridgeland (7-8) led 14-10 after the opening stanza, but the Lady Raiders would rally to knot the game at 29 as both teams headed to the locker rooms.

The lead would continue to change hands in the second half. Southeast would go on a brief 7-0 run to gain a 46-41 advantage by the end of the third, but Ridgeland would come right back with a 10-4 run to jump back in front, 51-50.

However, the Lady Raiders would have the final say as they would hit their free throws down the stretch to pick up the win.

Meadows dropped in 31 and earned AllTournament honors, but was the only Lady Panther in double figures. Dunn finished with seven and Fran King added six.

Ridgeland was slated to play a non-region game at Chattanooga Christian School on Tuesday before getting back to region play at Heritage on Friday.
