Jo Ella Nana Haston, 79, Chattanoog­a

Our dear loved one, Jo Ella “Nana” Haston, of Chattanoog­a, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.

Jo Ella was born May 9, 1937 in Soddy, Tennessee and graduated from Kirkman High School.

She was a longtime employee of Olan Mills and Life Touch having retired in 2015.

She was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church in Chattanoog­a.

Nana was a devoted wife and mother who always thought of others. She dearly loved her children, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. Each Christmas, her kids enjoyed the gifts showered on them by “Nana Claus.”

Jo Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine and Georgia Morgan, and sister Wanda Rhoden.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Frank Haston; daughter, Sherry (Lynn) Goss of Ringgold; son Roger (Doris) Haston of Ringgold; stepson Mark Haston of Lincoln, NE; sister Evelyn Nethery of Soddy Daisy; grandchild­ren Ryan (Treasure) Coulter; Whitney (Daniel) Hille; Blaine (Heather) Haston, Zachary Goss, Bethany (Logan) Hixson, Alex Goss, John Haston; great grandchild­ren Alex, Camper, Scout, Hamilton and McKinley; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends Linda Bryson and Pat Akins.

The family would especially like to thank Sheila Hancock, Sharyl Griggs, Hospice of Chattanoog­a, and Care Assist for providing wonderful, loving care throughout her illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of Chattanoog­a.

The family received friends Wednesday, January 4, from 4 :00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel

Funeral services: Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiatin­g.

Mrs. Haston was laid to rest in the Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.
