McFriends’ Night fundraiser a success for the LaFayette-Walker County Library

-

This year’s McFriends’ Night raised $422 for the Friends of the LaFayette-Walker County library. Volunteers with the Friends of the Library, the LaFayette Woman’s Club, the LaFayette High School Junior Optimist, Beta Club, and Girl Scouts worked the counter at McDonald’s, the drive-thru window and collected donations during a two hour period on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

McDonald’s owner Steve Ensley donated 20-percent of the profits during that period to the Friends of the LaFayette-Walker County library.

The volunteers also collected $200 in cash donations from people stopping by the McDonald’s during that two hour time period.

Friends of the Library president Rachel Oesch Willeford wants to thank everyone that donated, “It takes a lot of money for the library to offer free programs to the community and that couldn’t happen without the support of the library patrons and concerned citizens donating their time and money to fundraisers like this one.”
