Middle School Soccer: Valley sweeps Dade

The Chattanoog­a Valley Middle School soccer teams swept Dade County Thursday afternoon in Trenton.

CVMS girls 10, Dade County 0

The Lady Eagles got a hat trick from Ria Cox and two goals from Sydney Coats as both seventh graders passed the 10-goal mark for their middle school careers.

Angelica Crowe also found the net twice, while Emma McGraw scored once and was solid in the midfield for the Maroon-and-White. Kilie Wilson and Emma Coats also found the net for the first time as Lady Eagles.

Meadow Duhm, Michelle Thomason and Riley McBee anchored the defense.

CVMS boys 4, Dade County 2

Liam Kenny knocked home two goals for the Eagles, while Landon Shankle and Davis Tucker both scored once. Sam Dickson, Isaiah Castoe and Ben LaMontagne also contribute­d in the win.

LaFayette boys 2, Saddle Ridge 1

The Ramblers got goals from Parker Lively and Alex Holloway in a win over Saddle Ridge on Thursday. Lively and Austin Rainwater were credited with assists, while head coach Matt Earl praised Carter Golden, Hayden Rainwater and Haidon Pickard for their efforts in the win.

Karson Ledford scored a first-half goal for Mustangs, while Saddle Ridge keeper Austin Fitzpatric­k came up with eight saves in net.

LaFayette girls 4, Saddle Ridge 0

In the girls’ match, LaFayette collected a shutout win.

Savanna Hall scored two goals and assisted one after returning from an injury. Sixth grader Emma Baker scored her first goal as a Lady Rambler and midfielder Halle Alexander had a solid performanc­e and recorded an assist.

In other action on Thursday, the Rossville Lady Bulldogs gave up a goal in the second half and dropped a 1-0 decision to Trion.
