Middle School Soccer: Teams look to build momentum before Spring Break

The Heritage Middle boys soccer got four goals from Kevin Ho and two each from Bradley Cass and Stephen Scott in an 11-1 home win over Saddle Ridge last Monday.

Liam Smartt, Chipper Grayson and Tipton Smartt all found the net once, while Smartt, Ho, Stephen Scott and Alex Bedwell were credited with assists for the Generals, who improved to 6-1 on the season.

Max Bowman scored an early goal to account for the Mustangs’ offense.

The girls’ match was postponed due to weather. A makeup date had not yet been announced as of press time.

Heritage girls 10, Rossville 0

The Lady Generals got four goals and an assist from Bailey Needham and three goals and an assist from Annie Pearl Keys in a 10-0 shutout victory over Rossville this past Thursday.

Solo goals were scored by McKenna Bialecke, Zandy Burton and Allison Craft, while Molly Cason and Mady Terry each had an assist.

Defensive standouts included Cason, Terry, Sydney Lane, Madison Lankford, Addison Needham and Emma Walther, while Jordan Leonard and Abby Scott combined for the win in goal as Heritage improved to 10-0 on the season.

Details from the boys’ game were not provided as of press time.

Chatt. Valley girls 4, LaFayette 1

The Lady Eagles got out to a three-goal advantage in the first half and went on to a victory over LaFayette last Monday evening in Flintstone.

Sydney Coats found the net for the Lady Eagles’ first two tallies, scoring in the 10th and 16th minute. Ria Cox follows up with a goal a minute later and CVMS would take the 3-0 lead into the half.

Bianca Rogers converted a penalty kick for the Lady Ramblers 11 minutes into the second half, but the Lady Eagles would tack on one final goal just over two minutes later as Annabelle Casto hammered one home.

Riley McBee made three saves for CVMS, while head coach Eric Stevens praised the midfield efforts of Emma McGraw, Kilie Wilson and Katieann

Thompson.

LaFayette boys 5, Chatt. Valley 3

In the boys’ match, Parker Lively scored twice and solo goals were netted by Daniel Lopez, Haidon Pickard and Rob Hannah in a win over the Eagles. Austin Deering assists on three goals, while Livley and Mason Alexander had one assist each.

Individual scoring for CVMS was not provided as of press time.

The Lady Ramblers scored on a penalty kick and off a set play as they hung on for a win at Ringgold on Thursday.

Rogers took the PK for the Lady Ramblers, while the second goal was put in by Savanna Hall as she scored off a free kick from Cayenne Russ.

Maggie Reed scored the lone goal for the Lady Tigers.

Lakeview led 2-0 at the time play was suspended.

Bailey Sullivan, who scored on Monday, added a second goal and Emma Leverett knocked in two to seal the win. Astrid Cantrell recorded a tally on Monday. Sullivan and Rachel Lopez led the defensive effort.

Lakeview girls 5, Saddle Ridge 0

On Thursday, the Lady Warriors coasted to a win over the Lady Mustangs behind two goals apiece from Sullivan and Sydnee Brown. Leverrett assisted on the first three goals and found the net herself in the second half. Evlyn Woody also had an assist.

Head coach Traye Carpenter praised the defensive efforts of Mija Kojic, Isis Cantrell and Shaili Patel.

Lakeview boys 5, Saddle Ridge 1

The unbeaten Warriors found themselves trailing 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Karson Ledford goal for the Mustangs.

However, Lakeview would right the ship in the second half and get goals from Alan Smajlovic, Cooper Kirk, Belmin Kojic and Stivan Galicia. Bryson Sullivan also scored on a nice assist from Enis Keserovic.

Saddle Ridge head coach singled out Dylan Parker and Mali Davis for their defensive play and appreciate­d the efforts of Lake Johnson in goal.
