Middle School Golf: Grant Langford continues to lead the way for LaFayette
Grant Langford carded a solid round of 41 and the LaFayette Middle School golf team picked up the win in a three-team match at the LaFayette Golf Course last Monday.
The Ramblers also got a 55 from Junior Barber, a 56 from Gray Payton and a 60 from Judson Woods to finish with a team score of 212. Lakeview (225) was second and Gordon Lee (230) third.
No other individual scores were provided as of press time.
Langford followed up on Tuesday by shooting a 37 as the Ramblers finished with a 10-stroke victory over three over three other teams in another nine-hole match at the LaFayette Golf Course.
Barber and Payton each fired a 57, while Emma Moore’s 62 rounded out the Ramblers’ team score of 213.
Ringgold was second at 223, followed by Gordon Lee at 231 and Chattanooga Valley at 235.
The Tigers’ Mocka Yagi had a 49, Jett Bridges shot a 56, Cole Bailey fired a 60 and Jake Stone contributed a 58.
The Eagles got a 51 from Chanse Lewis, who was hampered after straining his back early in the round. Richie Mullins and Eli Gilreath both shot 61, while Grayson Brown had a 62.
Gordon Lee was led by Noah Dockery’s 57. Cora Mount and Jay Roberts both shot a 58, while Andrew Sizemore carded a 60. Landon Williams (61) also played for the Trojans.
Generals win at Canyon Ridge
The Heritage Middle School golf team got a pair of 43’s from Cain Stover and Chandler Burns and won a three-team match last Tuesday.
A pair of 47’s by Robert Lyle and Declan Ryan rounded out the Generals’ team score of 180.
Saddle Ridge carded a 216 to finish second. Scott Smith paced the Mustangs with a 48, followed by
Riley Mitchell’s 54, Brady Mullaly’s 55 and Christian Howard’s 59.
Eli Stallings led Dade County (234) with a 56, while 59’s from Ethan Cloud and Alex Jones and a 60 from Shade Knight completed the team total for the Wolverines.
Mustangs win at LaFayette
Saddle Ridge shot a team score of 208 and won a four-team match at the LaFayette Golf Course this past Thursday.
Mullaly had the lowest score for the Mustangs and was the low medalist on the day
with a 46. Smith’s 52, Howard’s 53 and Shelby Coker’s 57 rounded out Saddle Ridge’s team score.
Lakeview (220) got a 52 from Ashton Hinnard, a 53 from Te’a Wilson, a 55 from Brandon McBryar and a 60 from Landon Faulk.
Gordon Lee (230) got a 54 from Mount, a 58 from Roberts and a 59 from Williams and Jake Jones.
Rossville (244) was led by Ryan Grasham’s 57. Trent Ratcliff shot a 61, while Alijah Beaumon had a 63. The Bulldogs had to add an extra 63 to their team score.
