Artillery at Battlefield

-

On Saturday, April 29, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will conduct artillery programs at the Brotherton Cabin (Tour Stop 4), in Chickamauga Battlefield, at 10:30 a.m, 11:30 a.m, 1:30 p.m, 2:30 p.m and 3:30 p.m., with each program lasting approximately 30 minutes. The Brotherton Cabin is located along LaFayette Road, at the intersection of Brotherton and Dyer roads. Please follow the “Special Event” signs to the parking area.

The fields and woods around the Brotherton farm are most often associated with the Confederate breakthrough on Sept. 20, 1863. However, it was the scene of vicious and chaotic fighting the day before and near the area where Union forces overran Carnes’ Tennessee Battery. Join us for a special artillery demonstration and program on these Tennesseans and their actions in the woods near the Brotherton farm.
