Rockmart.

Down 5-4 in the top of the seventh, the Trojans found some two-out magic. With Will Sizemore at first, Hopkins laced an RBIdouble to bring in the tying run and Hopkins took third on the throw home at the end of the play. Hopkins would trot home on a balk call moments later, giving the Trojans a 6-5 lead.

Rockmart would tie it up in the bottom of the seventh, but Gordon Lee would push home three runs in the top of the eighth without the benefit of a single hit as two walks, an error, a hit batsman and a sacrifice fly would do the trick.

Hodson, the sixth pitcher of the day used by the Trojans, would set down Rockmart in order in the bottom of the eighth to finally seal the win and collect the victory. He worked two innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit with a walk and a strikeout.

Hopkins and Thompson each had two hits, while Thompson, Cowan and Minghini were all credited with one RBI.
