The impact caused the 4Runner to spin and enter the right lane, where she was T-boned on the driver side by 20-year-old Brittanie Owens of Chickamauga who was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer.

Young was severely injured and Life Force was called to the scene. Life Force did not fly Young from the scene, but the flight medic traveled inside the Puckett EMS ambulance with Young and was administering CPR.

Young was pronounced dead when the ambulance arrived at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

Selvidge and Owens were also transported by Puckett EMS. Selvidge was alert, but with serious injury. Owens escaped with non-life threatening injuries.
