COMMUNITY · LaFayette Middle School’s Spring Plant Sale continues until May 12 with the greenhouse being open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Students have worked hard to get plants — vegetable plants, herbs, annuals, perennials, ferns and other hanging basket plants — ready for this annual event. The greenhouse is located behind the school near the softball field. CAMP · Camp New Dawn will hold a work day on May 13, starting at 9 a.m. Individuals and groups can help get camp ready for its 20th season. CHURCH · North Summerville Baptist Church will hold its 2017 Women’s Conference on Saturday, May 13, beginning at 10 a.m. with featured speakers Julia Tucker, Tina Watts and Cathy Worley. EDUCATION · The Friends of the GordonLee Mansion will open the mansion and ground for tours on May 13 from noon until 2 p.m. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Gordon-Lee Mansion, a 501c3 organization. Admission is $5 adults and $1 for 12 and under.

CLUB · The Chattanooga Valley Lions Club in Flintstone have started their 44th year of selling sweet Vidalia onions. The onions were picked up at a farm in Vidalia by two Chattanooga Valley Lions members on Wednesday, April 26, and are being sold at the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Flintstone. MEETING ·The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission’s Area Agency On Aging will hold its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Thornton Recreation Center, 102 North Floyd Park Road in Rome (across from Armuchee High School on U.S. Highway 27 North). The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.
