COMMUNITY · LaFayette Middle School’s Spring Plant Sale continues until May 12 with the greenhouse being open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Students have worked hard to get plants — vegetable plants, herbs, annuals, perennials, ferns and other hanging basket plants — ready for this annual event. The greenhouse is located behind the school near the softball field. Saturday, May 13

CAMP · Camp New Dawn will hold a work day on May 13, starting at 9 a.m. Individuals and groups can help get camp ready for its 20th season. Tools, plants, paint, etc. will be provided — bring a servant heart and willing hands. Lunch will be served. The camp is at 245 S. Cedar Lane, Chickamauga. Call 423-994-8485 for more information.

CHURCH · North Summerville Baptist Church will hold its 2017 Women’s Conference on Saturday, May 13, beginning at 10 a.m. with featured speakers Julia Tucker, Tina Watts and Cathy Worley. EDUCATION · The Friends of the GordonLee Mansion will open the mansion and ground for tours on May 13 from noon until 2 p.m. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Gordon-Lee Mansion, a 501c3 organization. Admission is $5 adults and $1 for 12 and under.

REVIVAL · Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 278 Oak Grove Road, Chickamauga, will hold a revival May 15 - 19 featuring evangelist Fred Russell nightly at 7 p.m..

CLUB · The Chattanooga Valley Lions Club in Flintstone have started their 44th year of selling sweet Vidalia onions. The onions were picked up at a farm in Vidalia by two Chattanooga Valley Lions members on Wednesday, April 26, and are being sold at the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Flintstone. COMMUNITY · Every Tuesday, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., the Rossville Public Library offers Ready to READ programs for youngsters. The library on McFarland Avenue is again open following a sixmonth renovation.

COMMUNITY · The 25th anniversary of the Don Stultz Walker County Senior Citizens Day will take place on Wednesday, May 17, beginning at 10 .m. at the Walker County Civic Center.

MEETING ·The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission’s Area Agency On Aging will hold its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Thornton Recreation Center, 102 North Floyd Park Road in Rome (across from Armuchee High School on U.S. Highway 27 North). The meeting begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

SCHOOLS · Ridgeland High School’s graduation ceremony will be held Thursday, May 18, in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s McKenzie Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
