First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe hosting womens’ ministry luncheon event
The Second Annual Women’s Ministry Luncheon at First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Julie Baumgardner, president and CEO of First Things First, an award-winning grassroots organization dedicated to strengthening families in Chattanooga. She and her First Things First team have provided technical assistance to hundreds of communities across the country and internationally. Over the past 19 years under leadership, First Things First has received numerous awards.
A passionate advocate for healthy marriage and family, Baumgardner is a newspaper columnist hosts a weekly talk show on public television, “First Things First with Julie Baumgardner,” discussing topics relevant to marriage and family.
Baumgardner has spoken at the White House Conference on Helping America’s Youth and has testified in front of a senate subcommittee about the benefits of marriage.
Locally, Baumgardner serves or has served as a member or trustee for many advocacy groups. She has been recipient of numerous awards for her efforts to strengthen families.
Baumgardner received degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee (MS, Community Agency Counseling) and Transylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky (BA, Psychology). She resides in Chattanooga with Jay, her husband of 27 years, and daughter, Ashley.
You are invited to join the Women’s Ministry for a delicious luncheon catered by Scenic City Catering, hear motivational speaker Julie Baumgardner who has chosen the topic “Be Still and Know,” and enjoy the music provided by Greg Smith and members of the Lions of Steele. The luncheon will be held at First Baptist Church, 2645 LaFayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe.
