Emma Mathis Brown Treadway, 76, Rock Spring

Emma Mathis Brown Treadway, of Rock Spring, Ga., passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was 76.

A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, she was a former employee of Candlewick Yarns, Bailey’s BBQ and Richard’s Restaurant.

She was a former member of Cherokee Valley Baptist Church and was a member of Woodstatio­n United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Bell and Mary Elizabeth Sizemore Mathis; husband, Robert A. Brown, Jr.; brother, Gus Mathis and sister, Lula Bell Mathis Thomason.

Survivors include: six children, Jerry (Margaret) Brown of Aurora, Colo., Kenny (Karen) Brown of Centre, Ala., Andy (Christa) Brown of Rock Spring, Ga., Jan (Terry) Disheroon of Ringgold, Ga., Ricky (Tina) Brown of Chickamaug­a, Ga. and Pat (David) Martin of Ringgold, Ga.; sister, Mary Mayes of Rossville, Ga.; grandchild­ren, Jennifer Brown of Denver, Colo., Patrick (Gail) Brown of Mont., Michael (Jessica) Brown of Denver, Colo., Ken (Susan) Brown of Calhoun, Ga., Sandy Brown of Phoenix, Ariz., Jeff (Donna) Cole of Dalton, Ga., Josh (Jen) Cole of Cumming, Ga., Misty (Philip) King of Rock Spring, Ga., Chason (Nikita) Disheroon of Waco, Texas, Robert Whiddon of Ringgold, Ga., Phillip Whiddon of Ringgold, Ga. and Eric Culpepper of Ringgold, Ga.; numerous greatgrand­children, several nieces and nephews and a lot of friends.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 4-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.

Funeral services: will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday May 15, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Justin Gazaway officiatin­g.

Burial: will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
