Virginia Greeson Clarkson, 91, LaFayette

Virginia Greeson Clarkson, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017. She was 91.

She was born in Dalton, Ga., on Feb. 20, 1926, to the late Earnest Greeson and Ruby Hopkins Greeson.

Virginia was a dedicated homemaker as well as a substitute teacher at Center Post Elementary School.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church as well as the LaFayette Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she was an active member for 60 years holding numerous officer positions during her membership.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. Clarkson; infant sons, Gary Breeden and Joseph L. Clarkson, Jr. and twin sister, Eugenia Daniel.

Survivors include: her daughter, Delores (Forrest) Range of Clarksvill­e, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Robbie Daniel of Dalton; nephews, Steven (Annette) Daniel of Dalton, Kendall (Roxanne) Daniel of Marietta and Kim (Cynthia) Daniel of Marietta and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, June 6, from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service: Wednesday, June 7, at 2 p.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenny Roach and Dr. William Swanson officiatin­g.

Burial: in Trinity Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s: Steven Bayne, Nicholas Bayne, Chuck Franks, Carson Franks, Clayton Ingram and Malcolm Pickard.

Honorary pallbearer­s: Carlton Vines, Mack Agnew, Jimmy Agnew, Rev. Buck Ward, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority members: Ann Abney, Sammy Dobson, Carolyn Dunwoody, Virginia Ezell, Jean Hammontree, Kay Nuckolls, Louise Otting, Sara Smith and Myra Wilhelm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bank of LaFayette in care of Trinity Cemetery.
