The Catoosa County Family Collaborative will hold Kids’ Day on Thursday, Aug. 3, from 3-7 p.m. at Tiger Creek Elementary for the required immunizations and eye, ear and dental exams for students attending Catoosa County Schools. Also, there will be more than 20 booths featuring local health agencies, emergency services and nonprofit organizations to distribute information to help families keep themselves healthy and safe. Lessons such as how to properly crawl to safety in the event of a house fire, taught by the Catoosa County Fire Department, and a presentation on how to stay safe while riding on a school bus, taught by safety officials with the school district, are some examples. Kids and students in attendance will be able to play on inflatables and participate in games while their parents meet with organizations. COMMUNITY · A Suicide Survivors support group meets the first Thursday of every month from 7-8:30 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga in the main dining room. For more information, call Hilda at 697-9432. This group is for surviving family members and friends of those who have died by suicide.

Saturday, Aug. 5
EDUCATION · The Catoosa County Baptist Association invites the community to its annual Back To School Fair on Saturday Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Camp Scott Patterson on 72 Old Mill Lane in Ringgold. School supplies and medical exams will be provided for families who need them. Also, there will be free food, haircuts, games, inflatables and swimming. EDUCATION · On Saturday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m., Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will present a 90-minute car caravan tour of Chickamauga Battlefield focusing on resistance during Reconstruction.
