Richard Harris Merciers, 64, of Chickamaug­a, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Merciers attended New Haven Fellowship and enjoyed southern gospel music, hunting, painting by numbers, and spending time with his family. Richard was a fan of the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his father, “Harvey” Doyle Merciers, Sr., mother, Georgia “Kathryn” Pruitt, step-father, Bill Pruitt, brother, Harvey “Doyle” Merciers, Jr., maternal grandparen­ts, Albert C. “Dick” & Nellie Johnson, and paternal grandparen­ts, Fred & Mamie Merciers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Merciers; son, James (Melissa) Bode; grandchild­ren, Austin, Melanie, Jacob, Emily & Lauren; brothers, Stephen (Nancy) Merciers, Ider, AL, Robert (Anita) Merciers, Rossville Georgia, Tim ( Mary) Merciers, Higdon, AL; sister, April (Steve) Rayburn, Surprise, AZ; step-mother, Lonie Merciers, Ider, AL.

Funeral services: Wednesday, August 9th, at 2:00 p.m. at New Haven Fellowship with Pastor Luke Williams and Rev. Al Johnson officiatin­g.

Mr. Merciers will liein-state at the church from noon until the service hour.

Burial: TennesseeG­eorgia Memorial Park.

Marie Ray Plank, 81, Fort Oglethorpe

Marie Ray Plank, 81, of Fort Oglethorpe, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2017 in a local healthcare facility.

Marie was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on June 9, 1936 and has spent the greater part of her life in the North Georgia area. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She considered her family to be her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest G. Plank, son, Ricky Allen Plank and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son, Leroy (Patricia) Plank, sister, Debra Roach and her grandson, Tony Roach.

Barney Fletcher Duncan Jr., 64, Rossville

Barney Fletcher Duncan Jr., 64, of Rossville passed away Tuesday, August 08, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Duncan was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and North Georgia area. He was in the 1971 class of Chattanoog­a Valley High School, was a member of the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, and was a manager at Complete Cash. His passions in life were spending time with his children, grandchild­ren, friends he made during his lifetime, playing softball, playing the drums, and he was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Fletcher Duncan, Sr.; mother, Virginia Oldham; brother, Fletcher Dewayne Duncan; sisters, Debra Wilson and Ramona Brooks.

Survivors include his children, Jeff (Chasity) Duncan, Brian (Lisa) Duncan, Brent Duncan, Kyle Varnell, and Addison Duncan; mother, Delinda Duncan; brother, Rodney (Mitzi) Oldham; sisters, Denise Collins, Teresa (David) Wilson, and Tammy Duncan; 12 grandchild­ren; 5 great grandchild­ren; and several nieces and nephews.

Tammy Haley Mullis, 54, Chickamaug­a

Tammy Haley Mullis, 54, of Chickamaug­a, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at her residence. Tammy was a 1981 graduate of Ringgold High School and was known as the “Pink Potty Lady”. During her life she enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with her children, grandchild­ren, and friends. She will be remembered by her laughter, love of traveling, and living life to its fullest. The sangria she would make for holidays was unlike any others. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Haley.

She is survived by her children; Joe (Megan) Craton, Jordan (Ethan) Disney, Zach (Alex) Craton, and Katelin Mullis; Three grandchild­ren, Cameron Craton, Ella Disney, and Sadie Craton; mother, Winnie Haley; brother; Chris (Missy) Haley; nephew, Pierce Haley; her cherished dog, Brodie; several aunts and uncles; lifelong best friend, Cindy Little Beavers.

All memorial contributi­ons should be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her memory.

Julian E. “Jude” Phillips Jr., 62, Chickamaug­a

Julian E. “Jude” Phillips Jr., 62, formerly of Chickamaug­a, died August 6, 2017.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chickamaug­a/ Chattanoog­a area, a graduate of Gordon Lee High School, an electricia­n by trade and member of the IBEW Local 175.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Ruth Phillips of Chickamaug­a, and wife, Teresa Morrison Phillips. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Pollard of Rock Spring, Ga., Susan (Carlos) Brown of LaFayette, Ga., and Becky (Dale) Wright of Cleveland, Tenn.

Graveside services: Saturday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m., at the Phillips family cemetery in Villanow, Ga., with Rev. Mark Gregory officiatin­g.

Those wishing to follow the family to the cemetery may meet at 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Hope Fellowship, 2000 Twin Cedars Rd., Chickamaug­a, Ga.

Ronald “Skillet” Lee Kellett, age 72, of LaFayette passed away Saturday, August 05, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Lucky Kellett and Ibero Elizabeth Williams Kellett; son, Ronald Lee Kellett Jr.; daughter, Amanda Sky Kellett; sisters, Ann Kellett and Glorious Pickard.
