Kenneth Ray Masters Sr., 71, Ringgold

Kenneth Ray Masters Sr., 71, of Ringgold passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. Kenneth was known to many as “The loud front porch radio man” on 97.3 99.3 classic country. Mr. Masters was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area where he owned and operated Masters Fence Company in Ringgold. Kenneth was a Vietnam Veteran serving in our United States Navy. Kenneth loved old country music and he could be seen sitting on his front porch listening to his music and waving at the neighbors as they drove by. He loved his dogs and was a NASCAR and Mark Martin fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bessie Lee Masters; and son, Michael Masters.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth Ray Masters, Jr. of Chickamaug­a, GA; brother, Fred Masters of Rocky Face, Ga; sisters, Faye Shepherd of Tunnel Hill, GA and Carol Carter of Cleveland, TN; grandchild­ren, Hunter, Emily, Ashley, and Alenena Masters; and

several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Sunday at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

Burial: TN-GA Memorial Park.

Visitation: Saturday from 2-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.

Lonnie Daniel Oliver, 66, Chickamaug­a

Lonnie Daniel Oliver, 66 of Chickamaug­a passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017.

He was born in Stevenson, Alabama to the late John & Lula Oliver and had lived in the Chattanoog­a & North Georgia areas since the 1970’s. He was employed with Wheeland Foundry as a Maintenanc­e Technician for more than 31 years and was of the Baptist faith. Lonnie loved working on cars and playing his guitar. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Oliver; two brothers, Charles & Neil Oliver and two sisters, Gladys Foshee & Minnie

Green.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Gattis of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; children & spouses, Tim & Darlene Younce of Chattanoog­a, TN, Steven & Dawn Younce of Flintstone, GA, Tommy & Rachel Younce of Chickamaug­a, GA, Tina & Dennis Ransom of Fort Oglethorpe, GA and Wendy Jackson of Chickamaug­a, GA; brother, Howard Oliver of Chattanoog­a, TN; sisters, Katherine Peacock of Jasper, TN, Eleanor Summers of Stevenson, AL, Faye Hollingswo­rth and Jean & Ed McLemore all of Fackler, AL; 15 grandchild­ren; several great grandchild­ren; caretaker, Trent Jackson and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Graveside services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

Visitation: 4-8:00 p.m. on Saturday and prior to leaving for the graveside service on Sunday.

Virginia Adaline Hix, 84, Trion

Virginia Adaline Hix age 84, of Trion, GA passed away Monday – August 28, 2017.

She was born in Chattanoog­a, TN and had been a lifelong resident of the Northwest Georgia area. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading as a pastime. She was a member of Waterville Baptist Church in Trion, GA.

She was preceded

in death by her mother: Flora Britt, brothers: Leo and Johnny Britt, sister: Rosalie Britt, daughters: Deborah Kelsoe and Sheila Guffey.

She is survived by her loving husband: Grady Hix of Trion, GA, their children: Pamela (Terry) Glover of Ringgold, GA, Patricia Hix, Teresa (Allen) Hill, Helen (Robert) Hill all of Trion, GA, Grady (Amanda) Hix of LaFayette, GA, sister: Shirley Runyan of Rossville, GA, eighteen grandchild­ren, several great-grandchild­ren, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Wednesday from 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Thursday morning until the funeral.

Funeral services: 1:00 pm in the chapel on Thursday – August 31, 2017.

Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens-South – Rossville, Georgia.
