Bobcat golf team wins in season debut

The Georgia Northwestern golf team saw its first action of the season last Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland, Tenn. as they took on Cleveland State Community College in an 18-hole match at the Chatata Valley Golf Course.

Adrian Clark and Lane Strickland paced the Bobcats with a pair of 78’s as they beat the Cougars, 316-333. David Manis and Cole Roberts each carded an 80 to round out the team score. Newcomer Branton Bailey also played for GNTC and shot an 83.

An 82 was the lowest score posted by a Cleveland State player.

The two teams were slated to meet again on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the LaFayette Golf Course. Results were not available as of press time.
