Heritage High spikers start 1-1 in area play

The Heritage Lady Generals split their first two 6-AAAA matches of the season last Tuesday night in Tunnel Hill.

Heritage dropped a 25-16, 25-13 decision to host Northwest. Kali Brown had seven digs and three kills in the loss.

In the nightcap, the Lady Generals rebounded to beat Southeast, 25-17 and 25-10.

Brown picked up seven kills, two aces and three digs, while Maggie Britton served up three aces and dished out 10 assists.

Heritage also earned a split at home on Thursday, beating Gordon Lee, 25-16, 21-25 and 15-9, but losing to GPS out of Chattanoog­a, 25-20 and 25-15.

No individual statistics for the Lady Generals were available as of press time.

Heritage (14-5) will join Adairsvill­e for a tri-match at Ringgold on Tuesday. On Thursday, they will join Model for a tri-match at Murray County.
