CVMS Lady Eagles split two latest volleyball matches

The Chattanoog­a Valley Lady Eagles dropped a close decision on the road at Lakeview last Tuesday.

The Lady Warriors claimed the win, 2519 and 25-22. Setters Madison Lennon and Kaydence Johnson combined to set up a combined nine kills from Bailey Fowler, Paris Shelton and Annabel Hill. Fowler also had six digs. Koda O’Dell also had six digs and an ace, while Lexi Young had one ace.

In the JV match, Lakeview won by scores of 25-18 and 25-15.

Brianna McQueen and Ayssa Wooten each had three digs in the loss, while McQueen added an ace. CVMS also got strong serving from Caitlyn Smolik and Sara Friar.

Individual statistics for Lakeview were not available as of press time.

The Lady Eagles rebounded this past Thursday with a 25-9, 25- 17 over Dade County.

Johnson and Lennon combined for 18 sets, leading to five kills by Hill, four by Bailey Fowler and three by Johnson, Shelton and Asia Silmon.

Hill and Lexi each served up four aces in the victory, while Lennon and O’Dell each had six digs.

In the JV match, the Lady Wolverines won a hard-fought match, 2519, 12-25, 15-9.

Smolik and Emily Ensley both had aces for CVMS.

The Lady Eagles (2-5) will host Ringgold on Tuesday before playing at county neighbor Rossville on Thursday afternoon.
