GLMS still unbeaten after downing Catoosa foes
The Gordon Lee Middle School Lady Trojans stayed perfect on the volleyball court last Tuesday afternoon, dispatching the Lady Tigers in Ringgold by scores of 25-8 and 25-9.
Mary Kate Roberts had 31 passes for the Navy-and-White. Emoree Rogers had seven aces and 10 passes to go with 21 sets. Lauren Oliver finished with a kill and pair of blocks, while Arilyn Lee added five kills and block.
Other standouts included Brooklyn Hudson with six kills, 13 sets and seven passes, Alex Finch with three aces and a kill and Chloe Day, who also had three aces and a kill.
For the Lady Tigers, Destiny Cavin had a kill and a block, while Cady Helton also served up an ace.
In the JV match, Gordon Lee held on for two narrow victories, 26-24 and 28-26.
Emmie Chilton had seven aces for Ringgold, followed by Tahj Griggs with six, Alexis Brackett with two and Erin Harvey and Genna Pease with one each.
Individual statistics for the JV Lady Trojans were not available as of press time.
Gordon Lee’s varsity moved to 7-0 with a 25-3, 25-8 win over Lakeview this past Thursday.
Rogers had eight aces for the Lady Trojans, while Finch added seven. Hudson finished the day with five kills.
In the JV match, the Lady Warriors pulled out a 22-25, 25-23, 15-7 win.
No further individual statistics were available as of press time.
The Lady Tigers varsity team fell to Saddle Ridge on Thursday by scores of 25-6 and 25-9, while the JV team went down to defeat, 25-16 and 25-16.
Ashlyn Roberson had a dig for the Lady Tigers, while River Lowery, Erin Harvey and Amber Bramblett were defensive standouts.
Ringgold’s JV got two aces each by Harvey and Genna Pease, one ace by Tiffany Cavin and a dig from Griggs.
Gordon Lee will host Heritage in a big match on Tuesday. Lakeview will play at LaFayette and Ringgold will play at Chattanooga Valley.
On Thursday, Gordon Lee will be at Saddle Ridge, Ringgold travels to Dade County and Lakeview has the night off.
