Bruce James “BJ” Hoette, Ringgold

BJ, born January 12, 1950, entered into the presence of the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017. He spent his entire life touching the lives of everyone he met. BJ served his country in the United States Air Force. After retiring from a career in constructi­on management, he regularly volunteere­d at Memorial Hospital with his loving wife - comforting patients, families and staff. BJ was a very active member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church.

Beloved husband to Judy (Corn) Hoette, BJ will forever be remembered by his most precious daughter Megan, devoted brothers; Greg (Mary), Rob (Kay) and Kevin (Mary); sister-in-law Jane Corn, most loving and caring uncle to nephews and nieces and countless special friends.

Memorial mass: Saturday, September 9, 2017, 10:00 am at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Fort Oglethorpe, followed by a reception in the Parish Life Center.

The family requests donations to the Internatio­nal Rett Syndrome Foundation - Rettsyndro­me.org, St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church or charity of your choice.

For his family and friends in St. Louis, MO, a memorial mass will be held at a later date that will be published in the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

She had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was always helping others when needed.

Mary Loretta Green Williams, 84, Ringgold

Mary Loretta Green Williams, 84, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Saturday September 2, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.

A lifelong resident of the Catoosa County area, she was a Ringgold High School graduate class of 1950, a former employee of Dixie Yarn and was of the Baptist faith. Mary enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and flowers, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchild­ren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Ottis Williams; infant son, Robin Leslie Williams; parents, Thomas and Nola Land Green; and sister Marjorie Holland. She is survived by two children, Kenny (Lisa) Williams of Ringgold, GA., and Lea Dawn (Todd) Craig of Ringgold, GA.; sister, Barbara Rudell of Montgomery, Texas; five grandchild­ren, Nolan, Logan and Ethan Williams and Kayce and Ally Craig; three great grandchild­ren, Brody, Orrin and Buck Williams; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services: 11:00 A.M. Monday September 4, 2017 at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: Sunday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Margie Eunice Griffith Schmitt, 80 of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 1, 2017.

She had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was a member of Pathway Baptist Church. She was active in her church and was always going above and beyond for those she loved. She was a wonderful cook and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by several siblings, Bill Campbell, Geneva Henley, Eula May Hedges and Albert Griffith.

Charles Edward Combs, 82, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Monday September 4, 2017.

Born in Ooltewah, Tennessee, he has lived in the North Georgia area for the past 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Neal and Mary Evelyn Carden Combs and several siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sharon St. Cyr Combs of Ringgold, GA.; two children, Stacie Ann Combs Kirby of Niceville, FL., and John William Combs of Sanford, N.C.; sister, Sara Blount of Daytona Beach, FL.; brother, J.C. James “Jim” Beaty, age 74, of Summervill­e passed away Friday, September 01, 2017.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He spent most of his life working as a nurse. Jim also liked to read, garden and loved painting

Survived by brothers, Alris Baty of Rochester NY, and Adrian Baty of Hankamer, TX; sisters, Ava Lee of Rock Spring and Alva Barrett of Tulsa OK; also survived by one uncle, three aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wanda Jean Boatwright Curtin, 65, Fort Oglethorpe

Wanda Jean Boatwright Curtin, 65 of Fort Oglethorpe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

She had lived in the Chattanoog­a & North Georgia areas for most of her life and was a member of Crosspath Church in East Ridge. She retired from American Home Patient in 2003 after more than 15 years of service as a Home Health Nurse & the District Billing Manager. She enjoyed spending time outside gardening, but her legacy that she leaves behind is the love she had for others. She will always be remembered for putting everyone else’s needs before her own and she took true joy in helping those in need. She went above and beyond the calling of being a Servant of God. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Boatwright and Gladys Mullens; brother, Johnny Lee Boatwright and two sisters, Nancy White Spittler and Linda Shiffert Berkley.
