Middle School Volleyball: Gordon Lee edges Saddle Ridge to complete season sweep

The Saddle Ridge Lady Mustangs extended their winning streak to seven straight matches with a 25-2, 25-1 win over Rossville last Tuesday.

Colby Charland had a total of 23 aces for the Navy-and-Red to go with one kill. Daisy Felipe recorded 15 aces and an assist. Justice Devlin had three kills and Kaylie Guthrie had a kill and a dig.

In the JV match, Kaitlyn Helton served up a dozen aces as Saddle Ridge claimed a 25-13, 25-18 victory.

Erin Lemons had six aces and two kills. Markella Johnson finished with five kills and an ace. Vianca Segarra had five aces and a kill, while Caitlyn Lambitz recorded three aces.

Other standouts included Kayla Bailey (2 assists, 1 ace, 1 kill), Maggie Hambrick (4 digs, 1 kill), Skye Scott (1 ace, 1 dig), Haven Yancy (2 kills) and Aubrey Sayers and Amylia Grace Kelley (1 kill each).

Individual statistics for the Lady Bulldogs had not been provided as of press time.

Gordon Lee wins thriller over Saddle Ridge

The Lady Trojans traveled to Rock Spring on Thursday and survived a huge test against Saddle Ridge, 26-24 and 26-24, to stay perfect on the season at 9-0.

Mary Katherine Roberts had 35 assists for the Lady Trojans. Emoree Rogers had 20 assists and four kills. Brooklyn Hudson had six kills, while Lauren Oliver picked up four blocks.

The Lady Mustangs (7-2) got nine digs, six aces, four kills and block from Charland. Devlin had three blocks and a pair of kills. Brylee Durham had three aces and three digs, while Jaden Tucker and Kailey Boulware had two kills each. Boulware also added six digs.

Other standouts for the Lady Mustangs included Felipe (5 digs, 4 assists, 1 ace), Natalee McClain (3 digs, 1 ace) and Samantha Cramer (7 digs, 2 assists, 1 kill).

In the junior varsity match, the Lady Trojans won a three-set thriller, 21-25, 25-23 and 15-13.

Johnson paced the Saddle Ridge offense with five kills, two aces, three digs and an assist. Lemons had seven aces, two digs and a kill. Segarra served up five aces to go with three digs and a kill, while Bailey dished out seven assists.
