Middle School Volleyball: Saddle Ridge scores win over LaFayette

The Saddle Ridge varsity Lady Mustangs hosted rival LaFayette this past Thursday and swept their way to 8-2 with a 25-17, 25-8 victory over the Lady Ramblers.

Colby Charland served up 13 aces in the match, adding five kills and five digs. Winter Johnson tallied up six assists, while Daisy Felipe had eight assists, four aces and two digs. Justice Devlin had four kills and a pair of blocks. Jaden Tucker recorded two kills and Natalee McClain had two kills and an ace.

Also contributi­ng in the win were Samantha Cramer (2 digs, 1 ace), Brylee Durham (1 assist, 1 dig, 1 kill) and Kailey Boulware (2 digs).

In the JV match, the visitors left town with a hard-fought 13-25, 25-21, 15-8 victory.

For Saddle Ridge, Markella Johnson led the team in kills (5) and aces (4). Kayla Bailey added three kills and three digs. Erin Lemons collected four assists, two aces and two kills, while Vianca Segarra had three aces, and a kill.

Other standouts included Maggie Hambrick (5 digs, 2 aces), Kaitlyn Helton (4 digs, 1 ace), Amylia Grace Kelley (2 digs), Caitlyn Lambitz (2 aces, 2 digs), Skye Scott (3 aces), Cecelia Davenport (1 kill) and Haven Yancy (1 assist, 1 dig, 1 kill).

Individual stats for LaFayette (4-6) had not been provided as of press time.

Rossville takes down Dade County

The Lady Bulldogs picked up a sweep at home against Dade County on Thursday.

Rossville’s varsity squad (2-8) earned a 2826, 25-12 win, while the JV team held on for a 25-23, 26-24 victory.

Elizabeth Bagley had six aces and a kill for the Rossville varsity team. Brylee Benson served up four aces, added two kills and picked up a dig. Erica Culberson finished with two aces to go with a kill and a dig.

McKensie Miller and Ivey Stargel each had two kills, while Stargel also recorded an ace. Elliana Rodriguez finished with two kills, two digs and an ace and BreeAnna Ledford had an ace, a kill and two digs.

In the JV match, Rylee Waits had six aces and recorded three kills. Reece Waits and Monica Valasquez both had one kill, while Valasquez served up three aces. Bryanna Galindo finished with four aces and three kills. Sarah Graham had two aces and Kacie Poarch added one.

Heritage sweeps Lakeview

The Lady Generals moved to 8-2 on the year with a 25-16, 25-8 win over Lakeview on Thursday, while the Heritage JV team picked up a 25-17, 25-19 win.

No further details were provided as of press time.

Heritage will play Tuesday at Dade County, while Lakeview (2-7) will host Ringgold.

Gordon Lee beats Chattanoog­a Valley

The Lady Trojans are now 10-0 after a 25-9, 25-3 win over the Lady Eagles on Thursday.

Bailey Fowler had a kill and a dig for CVMS. Lexie Young had nine digs, followed by Kota O’Dell with five. Asia Silmon had one kill.
