MEETING · The September meeting of the Walker County Historical Society will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, 3 p.m. The program will be a tour of the historic Dougherty Mansion at Mountain Cove led by Charlotte Bible Wardlaw, Susan Bible Jessup and friends familiar with the history of the home. Those wishing to share rides can meet at the Marsh House parking lot off Duke Street in La Fayette at 2:15 p.m. to carpool to the meeting site at 1010 Dougherty Gap Road, Chickamaug­a.

CHURCH · Chattooga Baptist Church invites everyone to their 179th Homecoming Service beginning at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. Just One will perform and a covered dish luncheon will be served following the service. The church is located at 6982 state Highway 337, in the Center Post community, about 7 miles south of LaFayette.

CAMP · Camp New Dawn will sponsor a Spaghetti Lunch on Sunday, Sept. 24, from noon until 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Main St, LaFayette. A full meal of spaghetti, vegetables, salad, bread, dessert and drink is only $7.50. Eat in or take out. All proceeds benefit programs of Camp New Dawn. Everyone welcome

REUNION · The 71st annual Nance-Rollins Family Reunion is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Sept. 24, at noon. The reunion will be held at the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, located east of Ringgold, Ga. The first NanceRolli­ns Family Reunion took place on September 28th, 1946 at Catoosa Springs in honor of Mrs. Claudia (Nance) Rollins, wife of W. Henry Rollins and mother of O. Wayne and John W. Rollins. asking everyone to bring their favorite dessert for our dessert table and your family’s favorite drink for the cooler. Come share your roots.
