Middle School Volleyball: Lady Mustangs reach double-digit wins

The Saddle Ridge Lady Mustangs varsity squad began last week with a 25-7, 25-12 win at Chattanooga Valley last Tuesday.

Justice Devlin had a big afternoon with seven kills and five blocks to go with an ace for the Navy-and-Red. Daisy Felipe had four aces, four digs and a kill to go with her 19 assists. Natalee McClain had three kills and an ace, while Jaden Tucker finished with three kills and a block.

Other contributors included Colby Charland (8 assists, 3 kills, 2 digs), Samantha Cramer (2 aces, 2 kills, 1 dig), Kailey Boulware (7 digs, 1 assist, 1 kill) and Brylee Durham (2 kills, 1 ace).

Saddle Ridge also picked up a JV victory, winning in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-23.

Erin Lemons served up nine aces and added three digs. Markella Johnson had seven kills, a block and an ace. Vianca Segarra collected four aces, two digs and a kill, while Kaitlyn Helton had four aces and a dig.

Kayla Bailey recorded two digs and two kills. Amylia Grace Kelley three assists and a dig. Maggie Hambrick had two digs and a kill. Caitlyn Lambitz added a dig and Cecelia Davenport had one kill.

Individual statistics for Chattanooga Valley (3-8) were not available as of press time.

Two days later, Saddle Ridge improved to 10-2 on the season with a 25-17, 25-9 win over Lakeview.

Tucker had a teamhigh five kills in the win to go with three blocks. Devlin recorded three kills and a block. Cramer had five aces and a dig, while Felipe picked up nine assists to go with five digs, two kills and a pair of aces.

Charland had 13 assists, three aces, two digs and two kills. McClain added two aces, a dig and a kill. Durham had an ace, a dig and a kill and Boulware chipped in with a dig.

Individual statistics for Lakeview (2-9) were not provided.

In the JV match, the Lady Mustangs scored a narrow 28-26, 25-22 win behind seven aces, an assist, a dig and a kill from Lemons. Hambrick recorded four aces, five digs and a kill. Davenport had three digs and two kills, while Helton had two digs and two kills.

Other contributors included Johnson (4 digs, 2 kills, 1 ace, 1 block), Segarra (2 aces, 1 dig, 1 kill), Kelley (5 assists), Bailey (2 kills, 1 dig) and Lambitz (3 digs, 1 ace).
