Lady Generals claim league XC meet victory
The Heritage Lady Generals had five finishers in the top 20 last Tuesday as they held off host Coahulla Creek to claim the team title at the Chattanooga Cross Country League race at Grove Level in Whitfield County.
Heritage amassed 47 points, getting a seventh place showing from Alex Gass (22:35) and an eighth place finish from Caylee Carpenter (22:44). The Lady Colts ended the meet with 53 points, followed by Cumberland County (Tenn.) with 96.
Freshman Allison Craft was 11th overall for Heritage at 23:30. The rest of the lineup for the Lady Generals included Lucy Hicks (17th overall, 24:11), Lilly Black (20th, 24:58), Skye Remko (27th, 25:50) and Finley Brisendine (28th, 25:50).
LaFayette’s Lady Ramblers placed 11th, getting a 26:23 from Hannah Dearing (38th overall). Other runners for the Orangeand-Black included Caitlyn Watson (29:34), Hope McClure (31:23), Brianna Minor (31:45) and Rylee Stansberry (38:53).
Ridgeland’s top runner was freshman Macie Boren, who placed a respectable 36th overall in a time of 26:22 to help the Lady Panthers to a 13th place finish. Taylor Payne (34:12), Katie Taylor (35:03), Marina Mosgrove (36:38) and Abbie Morgan (39:07) also ran for Ridgeland.
The Lady Warriors did not have enough runners to qualify for the team standings. LFO was paced by freshman Brooklyn Carter (26:20), who finished 35th overall. Sydney Moss ran a 31:11, while Lillian Murphy clocked in at 34:04.
Ringgold did not have a runner in the girls’ varsity race. Freshman Jersey McCann was the third fastest girl in the JV race, clocking at 25:40, while her teammates, Danielle Daniels, finished in a time of 34:43.
Other JV girls’ runners included Caroline Coffey (27:56), Hannah Colston (30:04), Kori Moore (38:20) and Maggie Grayson (40:55) of Heritage and Sarai Parauhatsanon (35:44), Bianca Rogers (37:07), Kate Watts (40:57), Elisabeth Perkins (43:28), Rylee Henderson (43:31) and Leah Phillips (47:36) from LaFayette.
