Middle School Volleyball: Ringgold falls to Heritage
The Ringgold Lady Tigers suffered a 2515, 25-17 home loss to county rival Heritage last Tuesday.
Iley Barns and Allison Wolf-Driver both had four aces for the Lady Tigers, while Cady Helton and Ashlyn Roberson both recorded one ace.
Individual statistics for Heritage (10-2) were not provided as of press time.
Heritage also won the JV match by a count of 25-17 and 25-20.
For Ringgold, Alexis Brackett had four aces, followed by Erin Harvey and Sara-Kate Deberry with two each.
Bethany Cavin and River Lowery both picked up one.
Gordon Lee stays perfect
The Gordon Lee Lady Trojans (14-0) took another step toward a potential undefeated season with a 25-5, 25-7 win over LaFayette on Tuesday and a 25-2, 2511 win over Ringgold on Thursday.
Individual statistics were not provided for Gordon Lee or LaFayette as of press time.
For Ringgold (85), Ashlyn Roberson, Amber Bramlett, and River Lowery all had one ace each.
In the JV match, the Lady Tigers won an intense 31-29, 25-21 battle against Gordon Lee. Tajh Griggs had five aces, while River Lowery served four.
Alexis Brackett, Erin Harvey and Sara-Kate Deberry had two aces apiece, while Sophia Patterson and Emmie Chilton recorded one ace each.
LaFayette topples Dade
LaFayette celebrated their eighth graders on Thursday night and the Orangeand-Black celebrated by taking it to visiting Dade County, winning
25-10 and 25-16.
Brittany Aguero had seven aces for the Lady Ramblers (7-7). Shelby Madden had four aces and an assist, while Michaela Baker had four aces and a kill. Alex Wysong picked up two kills, Shelley Warren added an ace and Bella Brown had an ace, two blocks and
served at a 100 percent clip.
In the JV match, Kylie Grant had nine aces and an assist as LaFayette won 25-19 and 25-8. Baker had four aces and three kills. Sierra Cunningham had three aces and a block. Emily Cordell collected five aces and Kenedy Ludy finished with two.
