Middle School Volleyball: Saddle Ridge stays hot in September
Saddle Ridge’s varsity Lady Mustangs are now 12-2 after a pair of wins last week. On Tuesday, they coasted to an easy 25-6, 25-3 win at Dade County. The Navy-and-Red rode the hot serving hand of Samantha Cramer, who racked up 15 aces to go with her two digs and two kills. Daisy Felipe was right behind with six aces. She also had 14 assists and collected two kills.
Other contributors included Justice Devlin (4 kills, 1 ace, 1 block), Colby Charland (3 assists, 3 digs, 2 kills), Natalee McClain (2 kills, 1 ace) and Kailey Boulware (2 digs, 1 kill). In the JV match, Saddle Ridge earned a 25-19, 25-17 victory. Standouts included Erin Lemons (8 aces, 5 assists, 3 kills, 2 digs), Markella Johnson (7 aces, 4 digs, 1 assist), Amylia Grace Kelley (5 assists, 1 dig, 1 kill), Vianca Segarra (2 aces, 1 assist, 1 dig, 1 kill), Kaitlyn Helton (3 aces, 2 digs, 2 kills), Caitlyn Lambitz (1 dig, 1 kill), Maggie Hambrick (2 digs, 1 ace, 1 kill), Cecelia Davenport (1 assist, 1 dig, 1 kill) and Haven Yancy (2 digs, 2 kills).
Back at home on Thursday, Saddle Ridge rolled to a 25-5, 25-13 victory over Heritage.
Jaden Tucker led the Lady Mustangs with five kills and three blocks. Felipe racked up 24 assists, three digs and a pair of kills, while Charland had 11 assists, 10 digs, five aces and four kills. Cramer finished with four digs, three aces and a kill.
Boulware collected seven digs, two aces and two kills. Brylee Durham had six digs and two aces. McClain had three digs, a kill and an ace, while Devlin had a block and a kill. Individual statistics for Heritage (10-3) were not provided as of press time. In the JV match, the Lady Generals scored a narrow 25-23, 25-19 victory. Lambitz had five aces in the loss for Saddle Ridge. Johnson finished with three aces, three digs and two kills. Lemons had six aces, an ace and a kill, while Segarra collected three kills, two digs, two aces and an assist.
