He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church for 49 years and most recently, a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Butch cherished his friendship­s, loved hunting, fishing, playing softball and baseball, and coaching his son’s little league baseball teams.

Butch was preceded in death by his Parents, John Wyatt and Bessie Elliot Harrington, Son, Gregory Alan Harrington, and Brother, James Albert Harrington.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Linda Hodges Harrington, son Richie Wade (M’Liss) Harrington, daughter Donna (Jason) Worthingto­n, brother John Will Harrington of Opelika, AL, grandchild­ren Ian (Jodi) Beck, Amanda Louise Harrington, Gregory Scott Meek, Randall Gavin Meek, Sarah Elizabeth Worthingto­n, and great grandchild­ren Selah Joy Beck, Mercy Anne Beck, and Keziah Ruth Beck.

Services: Saturday October 14, 2017 at 2 PM EST at Beulah Baptist Church in Valley, AL with Reverend Doug Blackmon officiatin­g.

Pallbearer­s: Gregory Meek, Mike Cofield, Randyl Ann Cofield, Chance Cofield, Dwain Holt, and Mickey Harrington.

Interment: At the church cemetery following the service.

Mac Hise, 74, LaFayette

Mac Hise, 74, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 while traveling home from a day of shooting with longtime friends.

Mr. Hise was a graduate of LaFayette High School where he played Football with the successful 1957-1959 teams, many members of which became lifelong friends. He attended College at FreedHarde­man, where he met his first wife, Carol Ann Ogle. They resided in LaFayette, Georgia and had a daughter, Leisa Hise Jones. During his early career, Mac was a Quality Control Engineer for E.T. Barwick Corporatio­n. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Engineerin­g from Dalton College, and continued a career in the Carpet/Textile Industry until the mid1980’s.

Mac married Marty Howard Hise in 1974. They resided in LaFayette, Georgia and

had a son, Stewart Hise and a daughter, Kelly Hise Dobson. During the late 1980’s, Mac became interested in computers. He began reading and experiment­ing with building computers in his garage. Soon he formed Micro Concepts and began building and servicing computers in the Walker County and Atlanta area. He continued working as a self- taught Network Operations Consultant until his passing. Mac also served his community as Chairman of The Walker County Tax Assessors Board.

Mac was a National Champion in several categories as a Competitiv­e Sporting Clay Shooter. He loved going to San Antonio, Texas each year for the National Shoot. He also liked playing guitar and listening to music. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his shooting buddies and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Ogle Hise; and parents, Chester A. Hise and Bessie Williams Hise.

He is survived by his daughters, Leisa (Chris) Jones of LaFayette and Kelly (Russell) Dobson of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Stewart (Tifinie) Hise of Ooltewah, Tenn.; grandchild­ren, MacKenzie Jones, Bailey Jones, Ty Jones, Seth Hise, Aaron Hise, William Dobson, and Robert Dobson; and comp: 2 p.m. Thursday,
