MEETING · The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission will meet at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Gordon County Agricultural Service Center in Calhoun.
Saturday, Oct. 21
COMMUNITY · The sights, smells, and sounds of the German traditions will be found at the Summerville Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct.21. The event at the the depot and Dowdy Park will feature Oktoberfest beers, a German feast, musical performances, shopping, and more. Hours for the festival are noon – 7 p.m. Admission is free for this event. Oktoberfest will include bratwurst, beer cheese soup, barvarian pretzels, German Chocolate, strudels, other German inspired foods, artisans, and a bier garten featuring variety of brews. Festival attendees are encouraged to sport German wear and brush up on the chicken dance for extra fun.
CHURCH · New Bethel Baptist Church will hold a singing Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. featuring Gospel Soul Seekers. The church is located at 1635 Salem Valley Road, Ringgold. For information, call Nelson Richardson 706-965-2778.

Everything is FREE, carnival games, food, inflatables, candy, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides. and much more. First UMC is located at 301 S. Main St. in LaFayette.
