Saturday, June 16

COMMUNITY · Saturday, June 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Save Georgia’s Hemlocks, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will offer a class at Cloudland Canyon State Park to teach people how to save their own hemlocks and also how to help others in their community do the same. Then immediatel­y after the class, the new trainees and other volunteers will participat­e in a short service project to treat some of the important hemlock trees in the park.

Tuesday, June 19

ENTERTAINM­ENT · The Rossville Public Library continues its full schedule of summer reading activities on Tuesdays during June and July. Magician extraordin­aire Ken Scott will dazzle and amaze at 2 p.m. on June 19 and “Karaoke Jam” will be happening from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on June 26. A movie marathon (from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.) is scheduled for July 3 and Rock City will be featured on July 10.

CHURCH · Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church, 600 Mohawk St., Rossville, will be having a June Jubilee weekend, June 23 -24. June 23rd will be a Car Show from 1:30 - 4:00p.m. The Rochester Family will be our special guests on Saturday evening 7 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Evangelist Buster Kinsey and Scott Matthews will be preaching Saturday evening and again Sunday 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

ENTERTAINM­ENT · The Chattanoog­a Music Club will present it’s annual free Patriotic organ concert at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium at 399 McCallie Ave on Tuesday, June 26, from 7- 8:30.p.m. By popular demand the Mighty Austin will accompany a silent movie. The program will feature a salute to the military with the Color Guard provided by retired Rear Adm. Vance Fry, USN and retired Capt. Mickey McCamish USN (. Local soprano, Sara Snider Schone, will be the featured soloist. Dr. Terry Pope on trumpet and Justice Johnson will accompany Dr. Pope on drums for Taps. Internatio­nally known Richard Hills, from Great Britain, is to perform on the Mighty Austin organ.

COMMUNITY · A Suicide Survivors support group meets the first Thursday of every month from 7-8:30 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Chattanoog­a in the main dining room. For more informatio­n, call Hilda at 697-9432. This group is for surviving family members and friends of those who have died by suicide.

COMMUNITY · Kids 4 Christ , a non-profit children’s ministry, meets Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. at 108 Wither Street, in LaFayette.
