Heritage boys earn tourney’s top seed in 74-42 win

The Heritage Generals clinched the North Georgia Athletic Conference regular season boys’ championsh­ip with a 74-42 victory at Dade on Thursday.

Kaleb Gallman had 13 points, Lennon Barrett had 12 and Will Riddell added 10 in Heritage’s biggest offensive output of the season. Max Owens finished with nine points and J.C. Armour picked up eight.

Caiden Bauldwin finished with five points. Blake Debity and Brady Chandler each had four points. Caden Lowrey and Cooper Bell dropped in three points each, while two points apiece from Talon Pickett and Jackson Wright rounded out the scoring.

Heritage 52, Ringgold 42

The Generals picked up a big win last Tuesday on the road. Gallman connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points for the Generals, who salted the game away by making 12 free throws in the final period.

Bauldwin had 11 points and Armour finished with 10 points. Nine from Owens and seven from Chandler rounded out the scoring column for Heritage.

Luke Rominger had 15 points for the Tigers. Emery Gravitt added 13 and Braxton Holtcamp picked up 11. Gavin Lakin had two points and Jacob Duarte chipped in with one.

Ringgold 50, Saddle Ridge 20

The Tigers picked up a victory in the regular season finale on Thursday and will go into the tournament as the No. 2 seed.

Duarte had a teamhigh 17 points in the win. Rominger had 12 points on four 3-pointers and Damian Woodard had a pair of threes on his way to eight points. Four points by Zach Fow, two each from Ryder Fairchild and Phillip Johnson and one by Benji Fow, rounded out the scoring.

Marvin Johnson had 13 points to pace the Mustangs. Landon Kennedy added four, Trey Parrish picked up two and Carter Rudd finished one.

Chattanoog­a Valley 45, Trion 41

The Eagles got a true team effort they held off the Bulldogs for a win on the road last Tuesday night.

Matthew Ramsey had 13 points, eight steals and five rebounds, while Judd Anderson finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Andrew

Johnson and Parker Metcalf each had six points with Metcalf adding six boards.

Matthew Dunn added five points for the Eagles, followed by four from Kain Brown and two by D.J. Martin.

Chattanoog­a Valley 42, Gordon Lee 25

Anderson scored 15 points, cleaned the glass for 20 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots on Thursday as the Eagles pulled away with a big fourth quarter after taking a 26-23 lead into the final stanza.

Ramsey had 14 points and nine steals. Dunn scored four points and Johnson had three. Two points each from Metcalf, Martin and Jaishon McLin rounded things out for CVMS, who will be the tournament’s No. 3 seed.

Will McCutcheon had eight points, nine rebounds and three steals for the Trojans. Luke Paris had five points and six rebounds. Parker Scott and Jesse Craddock both scored four points, while Luke Sikes and Colton Baker had two points each.

Gordon Lee 57, Rossville 44

McCutcheon had another huge game for the Trojans last Tuesday with 26 points and 10 rebounds as they picked up the home victory over the Bulldogs. Craddock had six points, followed by Sikes with five, Paris with four and Aiden Goodwin with one.

Gordon Lee is seeded No. 7 for the NGAC tournament.

Chase Hickman had points to pace the Bulldogs. Ethan Waters added 12 and Evan Graham went for nine.

LaFayette 60, Saddle Ridge 30

Caden Hinton and Dawson Pendergras­s both had 14 points as the Ramblers picked up the victory last Tuesday night. Trent Morgan went for 13 points. Tucker Henderson and A.J. Thompson had eight points apiece. Khalas Finley added five and Julian Lees scored two to round things out.

Johnson had 12 points for the Mustangs, who will be the tournament’s No. 10 seed. Kennedy and Jude

Godfrey each scored four points, while Rudd, Greyson Potts, Garren Kennedy, Colton Prince and Aiden Hannibal dropped in two points each.

LaFayette 51, Rossville 49

Pendergras­s paced the Ramblers with 16 points and Hinton went for 14 as the Ramblers pulled out a narrow victory on the road on Thursday to secure the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

Finley and Isaiah McKenzie both had six points. Thompson netted five points and Lees finished with four.

Anthony Baldwin had 14 points for the Bulldogs, who will be seeded No. 9 in this week’s tournament. Hickman finished with 11 and Waters added 10. Six points by Jamarion Burks, four from Hunter Proctor, three by Franklin Wilson and one from Graham rounded out the scoring for the home team.

Lakeview 49, Dade 37

The Warriors got balanced scoring in a home victory over the Wolverines last Tuesday. Carson Goff led the way with 14 points. Rashad Rachel picked up 10 points and Sebastian Nelson added nine. Bryce Goins and Rayshawn McGruder had six points apiece for the Redand-White.

Lakeview 27, Trion 22

The Warriors closed out the regular season with a road victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday. Nelson, Rachel and Eli Walker all scored six points each for the Red-and-White, who will be the tournament’s No. 8 seed.
