Ringgold girls run NGAC regular season table with 51-29 win

The Lady Tigers wrapped up the NGAC regular season title with a 51-29 victory over Saddle Ridge on Thursday. Leiah Henderson had 14 points, Cady Helton added 12 and Kinsley Forscutt finished with 10 as Ringgold built a 27-13 lead at halftime.

Allie Massengale finished with five points. Kayla Lopez and Emma Stephenson had four each, while Riley Burdette chipped in with two. Ringgold will be the top seed for this week’s NGAC tournament in LaFayette.

FanTasja Barber had 16 points, six rebounds and four steals for the Lady Mustangs. Avery Jenkins collected six points, while Alivia Hughes had three points and 13 boards. Two points by Vianca Segarra and one each from Olivia Acuff and Malloney Mitchell rounded out the scoring. Mercedes Mitchell and Macee Casteel each grabbed one rebound.

Ringgold 44, Heritage 30

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 13-4 lead after one quarter and took a 27-12 lead into intermissi­on before cruising to a home victory over their county rivals last Tuesday afternoon.

Helton had 19 points for Ringgold in the victory. Lopez finished with 11 points and Forscutt finished with eight. Three points by Burdette, two from Henderson and one from Braylee Raby rounded out the scoring.

Natalie Vaughn had 11 points to pace the Lady Generals, while Macie Collins finished with nine. Avah Morrison had five points,

Katie Coke finished with four and Charisma Graham added one.

Lakeview 39, Dade 18

Ziara Thompson scored 12 points and Zoey Martin finished with eight for the Lady Warriors, who picked up the home victory last Tuesday. Heidi Johnson and Christen Collins each scored seven points. Trinity Heinrich and Presley Piatt chipped in with two points apiece, while Kaile Richiez added one.

Lakeview 50, Trion 41

The Lady Warriors secured the tournament’s No. 2 seed with a road win on Thursday. Collins erupted for 21 points, followed by eight apiece from Johnson and Martin. Thompson dropped in six points, Piatt added four and Richiez chipped in with three.

Heritage 34, Dade 15

The Lady Generals locked up the No. 3 seed on Thursday by storming out to an 18-4 lead at intermissi­on and cruising to the victory in their regular season finale.

Dayonna Perryman had 12 points. Collins finished with nine points and Bree Wilson added five. Coke and Morrison had three points apiece, while Reese Abercrombi­e rounded out the scoring with two.

Trion 42, Chattanoog­a Valley 27

The Lady Bulldogs bolted out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in picking up the conference win last Tuesday.

Jamiah Lewis and Miriam Gaines had eight points each for the Lady Eagles, followed by Alexis Wheeler with five. Desiree Powell, Mylee Howard and Camby Arthur all finished with two points apiece.

Chattanoog­a Valley 38, Gordon Lee 29

Lewis had 12 points and six steals in the Lady Eagles’ home victory on Thursday. Gaines finished with eight points and seven steals, while Wheeler collected five points and 13 rebounds for CVMS, who will be the tournament’s No. 5 seed.

Emma Fowler finished with four points. Howard had three points, while the trio of Arthur, Regan Wimpee and Emma Yarbrough all finished with two points apiece. Arthur also pulled down 10 rebounds.

Abigail Ashley scored eight of her 16 points in the fourth quarter as Gordon Lee cut a 10-point deficit down to five in the final 90 seconds of the game. Tenslee Wilson had six points. Dallas Wagoner added three points, while Abby Logan and Gracie Helton both scored two.

Gordon Lee 55, Rossville 22

The Lady Trojans got 11 points from Wagoner, nine from Wilson and seven from McCartney Angel in the victory last Tuesday. Ashley added six points in the win.

Helton and Charlsie McElhaney had four points each. Logan and Hallie Bassham both finished with three points. Madeline Bailey chipped in with two points and Mady Lewis rounded out the scoring with one. The Lady Trojans will be seeded No. 8 for the NGAC tournament.

Shayla Rosson had 18 points for the Lady Bulldogs, while Jamice Davis and Lacey Moyer both had two.

Saddle Ridge 45, LaFayette 30

The Lady Mustangs led 24-15 at halftime, but used a huge run in the third quarter to put last Tuesday’s game away. Barber had 23 points to go with five steals and three rebounds. Segarra collected 10 points with a pair of 3-pointers and Jenkins finished with five points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Mitchell and Emilie Fountain each scored three points with one made 3-pointer apiece. Hughes rounded out the scoring with one point, but pulled down eight rebounds, while Acuff collected six steals.

Casteel had three rebounds. Raven Yancy picked up two boards. Alyssa Debter and Kendalyn Watson each recorded one steal, while Maddie Underwood gave the team solid minutes off the bench.

LaFayette’s Michaela Baker led all scorers with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. De’Shayla Green added four points, followed by Maggie Green with three, Kenedy Ludy with two and Gracie Headrick with one.

The Lady Mustangs earned the No. 7 seed for the tournament.

LaFayette 36, Rossville 21

Michaela Baker scored 11 points and Jenna Baker had nine as the Lady Ramblers picked up the road win in Rossville on Thursday. Ludy finished with six points and Suki Williams added four, while Headrick, Mya Woodard and Ella Webb each chipped in with two each.

The Lady Ramblers will enter the NGAC tournament as the No. 6 seed.

Rosson had nine points for the Lady Bulldogs. Haylee Collins had eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Davis added four. Rossville is the tournament’s No. 10 seed this week.
