The Jimmy Simpson Foundation in Rock Spring, Ga., a nonprofit founded to serve the brain injury community, has added a new public relations department to its organization.

This new department will enable the Jimmy Simpson Foundation to get the word out about the work that the nonprofit has been involved in since 1998. The department will be overseen by Vickie Hodge, CEO of the Jimmy Simpson Foundation.

“Safehaven has been part of the Rock Spring community (in Walker County) since it was opened by the Jimmy Simpson Foundation in 1998,” Hodge said. “We are proud and excited to add a public relations department within the foundation that will assist in making our organization known to the Chattanooga and North Georgia area as well as the Southeast region.”

The Jimmy Simpson Foundation is a 501c3 organization that works with individuals suffering from traumatic brain injuries. Founded by Carol Simpson to honor her husband, Jimmy, the nonprofit opened Safehaven to serve the Rock Spring, Ga., area and provide the best quality care for the brain injury community.

“I am excited that a public relations department will spread the word of what Safehaven contributes to the high quality of life for our patients and their families,” Jessica Malone, COO of the Jimmy Simpson Foundation, said.

Since its addition to the organization, the public relations department for the foundation has launched a new blog and newsroom.
