- By Scott Herpst

The LaFayette Lady Ramblers faced Walker County neighbor Gordon Lee last Monday and suffered a 9-1 setback in the non-region match-up.

LaFayette trailed 4-0 after three innings and scored its only run of the game in the fourth as Railee Lynn doubled, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a passed ball. However, the Lady Trojans — ranked No. 4 in Class A Public — added five more runs in the top of the fifth to pull away for the victory.

Pitcher Haynie Gilstrap allowed six earned runs on 12 hits and two walks in five innings of work. She finished with one strikeout.
