Ridgeland splits area home matches

The Ridgeland Lady Panthers suffered an area loss to visiting Northwest Whitfield last Tuesday, falling 25-20, 25-20 in the 7-AAAA contest.

However, the Lady Panthers salvaged a split during the tri-match by beating Southeast Whitfield, 25-13, 25-23, in a second area match.

Justice Devlin had 13 kills, six digs and two aces on the night. Natalee McClain finished with 12 kills, nine digs and seven aces. Asia Silmon had 24 assists while also recording nine kills, four digs and two aces, and Bailey Fowler had 13 assists, four kills, three digs and one ace.

Brylee Durham had a team-high 19 digs to go with an ace and a pair of assists. Koda O’Dell had five kills, three aces and two digs, and Cecelia Davenport finished with two kills and a block.

Ridgeland suffered a loss at Class

AAAAAA Dalton on Thursday, 25-16, 19-25, 15-9, but rebounded to beat North Murray, 25-7, 25-23, to move to 16-5 overall this season.

Silmon had 11 kills, 24 assists, six digs, two aces and a block on the night. McClain added 11 kills, eight digs and an ace. Devlin finished with eight kills, four blocks, two aces and a dig, while Fowler recorded 15 assists, five kills, seven digs and a pair of aces.

Durham had 11 digs, four assists and served up an ace. O’Dell added five kills, two digs and an ace. Brylee Benson had two aces and three digs. Davenport finished with two kills and a block, while Bryanna Galindo chipped in with an ace.

Ridgeland (4-3 in area play) was scheduled to host Cedartown at home on Tuesday of this week in the final 7-AAAA regular season match of the year. They were also slated to face Christian Heritage as part of the tri-match.
