LFO claims second win of season against Coosa

Last Monday night saw the Lady Warriors square off with defending AA/A Public School state champion Coosa for the second time this season and, like the first time, the Redand-White came through with a victory, this time by scores of 25-14 and 25-16.

Morgan Noblitt had another big all-round night for LFO with nine service points, including an ace, nine serve receptions, three kills, three assists and 11 digs. June Lindroth added eight service points with six aces to go with seven assists and one dig, while Xitlalli Gomez collected 13 digs, three service points, three serve receptions and a pair of assists.

Also contributi­ng for the Lady Warriors was Bailey Sullivan (six serve receptions, three kills, three digs) and Taliyah Holland (two service points, six kills, one assist, one dig).

On Thursday, the Red-andWhite found themselves in a pair of three-set thrillers and came away with a split, defeating Dade County (2725, 22-25, 17-15), but falling to Chattooga (25-15, 23-25, 10-15) during a tri-match in Fort Oglethorpe.

Noblitt finished the night with 16 service points, 19 serve receptions, 20 assists and 17 digs. Gomez had 19 service points, 26 serve receptions, 38 digs and two assists. Lindroth had 11 service points, 23 assists and two digs and Madison Gilliland recorded 23 serve receptions and 11 digs to go with three service points.

Holland had eight service points, eight kills, three serve receptions, two assists and 18 digs. Sullivan collected four service points, eight kills and a block. Madison Dorsey had five service points, four kills, eight serve receptions and 14 digs. Madison Stookey had five kills and three blocks, while Sydney O’Neal had a dozen kills and five blocks.

LFO (14-17) will go on the road for a match at Southeast Whitfield on Thursday.
